Located in historic Philipsburg, MT. The Silver Mill Restaurant and Saloon offers fine dining in a casual atmosphere. We have the largest whiskey collection in Granite County. Just 1 hour from Missoula, Helena and Butte, our restaurant is located in the heart of one of Montana’s most colorful western mining towns, convenient to hotels, shopping and 1 block from Montana’s oldest continually operating theatre built in the 1890’s.
Our decor is rustic and relaxed with the original (1882) brick walls, hardwood floors and restored stamped copper ceiling.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Silver Mill, and I can confidently say it was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between rustic charm and modern comfort — warm lighting, attentive service, and just the right level of energy for a relaxing evening out.
I ordered the prime rib, and it was exceptional. Perfectly cooked to a tender medium rare, with a beautiful crust and rich, savory flavor throughout. The seasoning was spot-on, and the portion generous without being overwhelming. Every bite practically melted in my mouth.
What really elevated the experience was the wine pairing. I asked for a recommendation, and our server suggested a bold red that complemented the prime rib flawlessly. The wine brought out the deep, smoky notes of the meat while offering its own rich, velvety finish. It was clear that someone at The Silver Mill knows their pairings well.
To finish the meal, we shared a slice of warm bundt cake topped with a luscious toffee sauce — and it was heavenly. Moist, rich, and just the right amount of sweetness, it was the perfect comforting end to an already stellar meal.
While the menu also boasts a tempting variety of burgers, pasta, and sandwiches — which I’ll definitely return to try — the prime rib, perfect wine pairing, and that unforgettable dessert make The Silver Mill a place I’ll be recommending to everyone. Highly recommend.

We were passing by and stumbled upon this gem! We had the shrimp scampi, tenderloin special with grilled brussel sprouts and cauliflower on a savory sauce, and the soup flight. My husband usually doesn’t like veggies and he ate it up! The dishes were all very beautifully presented and super delicious! The staff was also very personable and friendly. We were glad we stopped by – what a great dining experience!

They’ve gotten more imaginative with the dishes and it’s working really well. The burger is still there, don’t worry! There are nice options for your veggie friend, too. I’m a meat lover, but there’s been a few times I couldn’t pass up the roasted mushrooms bruschetta, broccoli salad and tomato bisque. Great spot to relax and grab a drink with friends.

I ordered a Bayern Helles and sirloin steak, mash, and veggies. The waitress asked me if I wanted to upgrade the sirloin cut to a picanha cut for a bit more. It was topped with some chive flowers sauteed in butter, and it was delicious. I plan to grow some chives so I can try to make this at home.
My veggie child got the pepper jack garden cheesburger, and fries. They were very happy, and finished their food, before starting to nibble on my mash and veggies.
It was a little slow, which I think is great. I had time to quiz the waitress about the ingredients (I thought the steak was topped with garlic blossoms, not chive blossoms), and spent some time talking to the (I’m guessing) owner about the selection of gins and tequilas.
I have some gins and tequilas to buy now.

We stayed in Philipsburg for three days and ate at this restaurant three times! Jeremiah was very welcoming and explained all of the wine, beer, and food options thoroughly. He truly has a passion for delicious food and beverages. We loved the prime rib fingers, prime rib steaks (Thursday only), burgers, and hot chicken sandwich. I will be craving those prime rib fingers until we make it back into town. Thank you for the amazing hospitality!

Everything was fantastic! I had the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich. Chicken was juicy and the hot chicken sauce was super flavorful. My wife got the steak sandwich and it was also cooked to perfection. My mother-in-law got the chicken plate. She loved the greens, one of the sides it came with, so much she ordered another helping. Service was also great and friendly. I will absolutely be back again and recommend everyone stop in and give it a go!

Excellent restaurant. Friendly service. Everything is fresh and made in house. Great menu with all of the classics and reasonably priced, too! I had an excellent rib-eye for dinner and came back for brunch on Sunday. The housemade hollandaise on the Eggs Benedict was perfect. I’ll definitely return.

We had a wonderful New Year’s Eve dinner/party there. The food was very good, the service also. The atmosphere, with a fabulous live band (local, even!) was fun – there was also an option to dress up in 20’s garb and have our picture taken and printed out (included with dinner!). The owner and the chef came out to talk with us (and apparently we were already well know because of the international party that called and left a message for a reservation). All in all a very pleasant way to spend the early New Year’s Eve with our son.

After spending the day wandering around Phillipsburg, we stopped in at the Siler Mill for a late lunch. It has the dark wood and rich leather feel of an excellent steakhouse and bar, but we experienced it as exhausted parents. The staff knew what we’d need and found an out-of-the-way corner for us to setup with two adults, an infant, and a toddler. The food was just right. And if you ask for it, they have the best cups and bendy straws for kids.

I come into Phillipsburg every few weeks after fishing and I always eat here. The cuts of steak are great and prepared perfectly, the grilles carrots and potatoes dishes are always great. I have had a few of the burgers and sandwiches and everything has been great. The desserts are great too, my favorite is the churro cake and ice cream. The owner is usually behind the bar, he is very nice and personable and seems to become friends with everyone that walks in the door. I do not do reviews usually, but this restaurant deserves a great review.
