Social Profile:

Right at the entrance there was a short line – around 10 minutes of waiting. Behind the counter, super friendly ladies taking orders with a smile. I grabbed two: one with salami (recommended by the staff) and one with some Italian ham. Honestly, I’m not even sure what I expected. It was good, but insanely greasy – like, my hands were literally shining afterwards. Still, it’s a fun snack and a solid fast-food option if you’re rushing around the city and want something quick to-go.

I absolutely loved this place! Don’t let the long lines scare you, it’s definitely worth the wait! I visited a couple of times, trying different panzerotti each time – both fried and baked, and I was amazed by every type. My favourite panzerotto would be the baked panzerotto with ricotta and spinach; out-of-this-world delicious. I wish I could try the sweet panzerotti too, but alas didn’t have the time. Thus, I will be stopping by for sure once I am again in Milan:)
Panzerotti Luini is a must-try if in Milan, for a quick bite on the go (there isn’t a sitting space, but can take away as much as you want) & enjoy it in front of the e Duomo.

Historic, fast and perfect for a no-frills lunch. Luini has been serving its famous panzerotti since the 1940s and remains one of Milan’s classic quick eats.

The queue moved quickly (we waited just three minutes behind five people), and it’s very much takeaway – no seating.

Great mix of sweet and savoury options. The tomato and mozzarella was a solid, simple choice, while the strawberry and chocolate version was more like a filled Christmas-style sugar cookie.

Cheap, quick and decent – ideal between sightseeing stops.

We absolutely love Luini!
Every year, we travel to Milan, Italy, to taste the most delicious food, and Luini never disappoints. Even with long waiting lines, the staff is super energetic, kind, friendly, and unbelievably fast! The chefs are Italian, the servers speak English, and the food is always served piping hot.

Our favorite? The traditional panzerotti – tomato sauce with stretchy cheese and fresh bread. It’s an amazing combination at a great price.

Thank you so much to everyone at Luini for making every visit so special!

Shop selling Panzerotti along one of the small alleys at Duomo. Many flavours of panzerotti and wide selection of other pastries. Tried the salt specialties- ham and mozzarella at €3.20 apiece, it was basically fried salty-tasty bread with ham and melted mozzarell cheese within. Not fantastic but worth a try. Its a tourist to-go.

Update:
Finally!! We came back to try some other products at Luini. OMG, their coconut chocolate cake (Torta Cocco Ciok) was amazing!!!!! Moist, fragrant, and chocolatey, with a rich coconut flavor yet not too sweet!! I wish I had tried it earlier!! Def my fav item of all. Guys, go try it!!

Original comment:
A very busy place that sells all kinds of panzerotti, a traditional Italian pastry that’s originated in Puglia. They offer baked, fried, and sweet options to choose from.

We picked the first item from both their savory and sweet specialty menu to try. The savory panzerotto tasted like a folded deep-fried margarita pizza. The sweet one was like a dumpling-shaped cookie that was filled with a cream custard mixed with chocolate chips in the center. Both were good. Great snacks when wandering around.

There was no seating inside or out as it was a takeout bakery shop. There was always a line but it moved very fast. Besides, the staff were super friendly (Thank you to the girl who gave me extra napkins haha). Overall, a must-visit place in Milan!

I absolutely enjoyed my stop at Panzerotti Luini in Milan — this place is a true local institution and an iconic grab-and-go snack spot right near the Duomo. The panzerotti are what everyone comes for: golden-fried pockets of fluffy dough filled with classics like tomato and mozzarella, spicy salami, or even sweet versions. They’re simple, comforting, and really hit the spot when you want something quick and tasty while wandering the city.

There’s often a queue, but it moves really fast, and grabbing one (or two!) feels almost like a rite of passage in Milan. The dough is light yet satisfying, and the fillings are generous — especially when they’re hot straight from the counter. While it’s definitely popular with tourists, locals keep coming back too, which says a lot about how good the panzerotti are.

Overall, it’s the perfect pit-stop for an authentic Italian street food bite: casual, affordable, and delicious.
