I have been going to Poul’s Bakery for several years. The owner Ayliz, is very helpful especially when you are deciding flavors and cake designs. These are authentic European cakes and pastries! The website is great. Lots of photos and most items can be ordered online in advance. Note, this is not a typical bakery where you walk in and order what you see in the case. You need to pre-order your items. There is a very lovely store front whe. You pick up your order. They also offer delivery, for larger orders.
I picked a Cannoli Cake last week and ordered mini Cannoli to decorate the cake. These are the best cannoli I have had in SoCal! I grew up outside of Boston, so I know good Cannoli when I have them! The Cannoli Cake, delicious. I had it made with chocolate cake, perfect choice! I also picked up Angel Cookies, they are so yummy! Definitely a must every visit!
This week I picked up a Buche de Noel (Yule Log), Tiramisu. It was amazing! By tradtion a Buche de Noel is a rolled cake and this one was perfectly rolled, beautiful inside and outside! Total hit for Xmas Eve!
I have bought several other cakes and flavors over the years, all.have been excellent! Items are packaged with care and very professional. I have recommend Poul’s to several friends, they all have been very pleased as well! I definitely will continue to recommend and patronize Poul’s!

Poul’s Bakery made a 48 in millefoglie cake for our wedding and we couldn’t be happier enough with how it turned out! I was looking for someone who would be able to construct the cake live for our wedding and was so happy to find Poul’s! I called Ayliz and she was a pleasure to work with from beginning to end. Not only did she make us a tasting cake to try before the wedding (it was delicious and exactly what we were looking for) but she was extremely informative about the logistics regarding the wedding cake and quite literally made our dreams come true. Our wedding cake was the HIGHLIGHT of our wedding! Everyone was so impressed that she was constructing such a large and beautiful cake live and it tasted incredible. To this day, everyone remembers our wedding cake and mentions it when they see us. I cannot recommend Ayliz and Poul’s Bakery enough, it was the perfect touch for our wedding and I would recommend her to anyone that wants this special and breathtaking moment for their wedding!

Poul’s catered a mother-daughter birthday party and did a splendid job! They provided an incredible assortment of mini desserts for our party, and the guests raved about them! Poul’s also made both my daughter and myself each a small birthday cake for photos, etc. Also delicious! They were professional, made excellent suggestions, communicated clearly, and delivered on time. I would use their services again and highly recommend them to others! Not your run-of-the-mill bakery, Poul’s offers very specialized and diverse choices and will work with your budget.

Best bakery in OC! With deep roots in Orange County’s history there’s a reason why this place has been in business for over 60+ years. Many of my friends’ grandparents were coming to Poul’s back in the 60’s and 70’s so it’s amazing that you can still get those same classic recipes today. All the various desserts, treats, and cakes are delicious and many are not found anywhere else. Some of my all-time favorites are the Angel Cookies and the Princess Cake. Have also had numerous friends get their wedding cakes and live Mille-feuille show done at their weddings and it’s quite an art watching it done live. Whenever that day comes for myself, I know who I’ll be contacting!

Love this bakery so much. My husband and I decided to trust this bakery with our wedding Millefoglie cake and I AM SO HAPPY WE DID! Ayliz and her team are amazing!! Ayliz was so kind and patient with us and explained the details of how to cut and decorate the cake properly. If I could have their millefoglie cake EVERYDAY believe me I would. It is absolutely delicious and so so fresh. We also ordered cannolis for our guests and everyone loved them so much. Highly highly recommend this amazing bakery.

I was looking to have St.Joseph’s pastries delivered to my sons. I live in NY so it was a challenge. But from the minute I called Poul’s Bakery they went out of their way to help. Pastries were delivered on time by a very nice lady and my boys raved about how delicious they were. Thank you! I look forward to visiting your bakery in person for more delicious treats

I needed to order a birthday cake for my mom’s 81st birthday. It was a Tuesday, and I needed.it by Friday. Ayliz graciously said okay and I told her I was on a budget. I wanted a simple cake with flowers on it. She worked with me and created such a beautiful cake! You would never know a limited budget was involved! It was detailed. It was very simple to order, it was all handled by phone and by text and photo ideas. The cake was chocolate with a mocha mousse. Oh my goodness!! This was an amazing cake! So good!! The buttercream wasn’t too sweet, it was delicious and smooth. The cake was moist and chocolate goodness! The flowers were made from buttercream frosting, no fondant here! People at the restaurant were commenting on how pretty the cake was!! I would definitely keep Poul’s as a go to bakery for cakes! You need to, too!!

Unacceptable product and poor service.
Business owner was extremely rude. When confronted by unprofessional, unfinished products, she was reluctant to apply any changes. For $45 a dozen, it is expected that the baker will at least use frosting, but here you have to ask and fight for even the bare necessities. When she did add simple frosting to the cookies, it was done sloppily and still looked bad. They were so poorly done that people thought that they were homemade. I was even scolded over the phone because I placed an order online.
