The food was so delicious and fresh!!! Nachos, Pork Tacos, Shrimp Toast, and Corn are a must try. Jimmy was a fabulous waiter! The atmosphere has a modern coastal vibe. I will be back often!

Small portions. Two workers serving and hosting. Charges for chips and salsa. On a positive note, the homemade tortillas were delicious.

Lovely decor. But a good restaurant is nothing without good food. The food was overpriced and mediocre. Very disappointed as we were looking forward to finally trying the place.
The white sangria was not sangria at all. It was cheap wine with a few pieces of fruit thrown into it.
Will not be returning. As a resident of the Island, I don’t expect this place to be around much longer unless they change the concept and the prices.

A must try, food was fantastic. Everything made fresh and from scratch. Enchiladas were off the hook, corn and ships were so tasty. Soup and drinks were on point. Besides the great food our server Josie was amazing, even being so busy she was so attentive and quick. Thanks, Josie for making our dinner pleasant and enjoyable.

The food is some of the best. Beautiful decor and amazing food. I hope they can hire some more staff because this place is a true gem. The gentleman was amazing who waited on us, but I could tell he was overworked with all his tables and bartending. The hostess and others were truly the nicest staff. A great experience and hopefully they can grow their staff.

Beautiful new restaurant. Love the coastal decor. Cannot wait for the market Nextdoor, that is part of the restaurant to open. Roxy our server was great! She recommended the enchiladas and they were delicious. A little pricey, but what isn’t right now and the portions were large. Guacamole was very good and so was the Sangria! Cannot wait to return.

Had high hopes as I heard this place was different, not a Mexican type restaurant. The good: beautifully decorated. The food was very good. The bad: The hostess clearly hated her job. I’m amazed how many restaurants don’t see the host or hostess makes the first impression on their establishment. There were only 2 occupied tables in the entire restaurant yet we were seated next to a bookcase in the back corner by the bathrooms. The server didn’t acknowledge us. He just showed up after 10 minutes and asked what we wanted to order. We ordered 2 appetizers and 2 tiny margaritas. Including tip it was $82. Sorry but it wasn’t different or special for that price

We went here for the first time on New year’s Eve. Despite being understaffed, the service was mostly fine and the food is fantastic. Try the tapas (the shrimp and the mussels in particular) and their interesting take on Nachos. Everything seems fresh and tasty!

Madre and Mercado has quickly become our new go-to spot on Hilton Head Island! The ambiance is warm and inviting, with beautiful decor that makes you feel right at home. We started with the chips, guacamole and salsa, which were incredibly fresh and delicious. The shrimp fajitas were outstanding, featuring plenty of succulent shrimp cooked to perfection, served with fresh vegetables, black beans, and rice, along with warm tortillas. The Madres Tazon was equally impressive, offering a delightful blend of flavors and textures. Service was exceptional, especially thanks to Tiffany at the bar, who was incredibly attentive and friendly. Highly recommend Madre and Mercado for a fantastic dining experience on Hilton Head Island!
