Cute and small family owned Banh Mi Shop. I got to meet both owners and they were both super sweet. Everything I purchased was fresh and delicious. My only wish was for the sandwhich to have more pork meat. Banh Mi for $7, various Vietnamese sweets for $5, definitely recommend.

Let’s start with the service, they’re there to sell you food and not be your fries which I’m fine with. I can remember the cost, something like 3 for $13 and they’re all really great! The bread is made in house, and I’ve never come here and not loved the food. I know a lot of folks will be turned off by their interactions here, but if you got for the food and have been out of the country, it’s just a different culture. They’re not rude, they just want to sell good food and get you out the door. I appreciate it, and can’t recommend them enough for the value of your dollar.

This place deserves zero stars for having no interest in customer service. I do not understand why the employees have to be so rude and negative. The only thing they care about is seeing your money in their cash register. What is sad is that I actually enjoyed their food. They even have a nice deal where if you buy five sandwiches (bánh mìs), the sixth one is free. Too bad I, and likely others, will not be returning. After all, it is better to support those who actually care about your patronage.

Their sandwiches are decent. Ba Le was around long before any of the other banh mi places opened up. I actually prefer the banh mi thit nguoi here over the thit nguoi at Quoc Bao. The meats are just more flavorful and tasty. Whenever I go here, I opt for a banh mi thit nguoi with a small nuoc mia.

Ba Le has THE BEST nuoc mia (sugarcane drink). I have yet to find a place in the DFW area with better nuoc mia than Ba Le. If only there wasn’t so much ice in the cup.

Their cha lua (vietnamese ham) is pretty good too. It makes for pretty good sandwich meat. They are the OG banh mi and cha lua makers in Garland. They’re no longer our favorite cha lua place but they are good at what they do.

WARNING: CASH ONLY!

The owner here is super rude. I asked him a simple question and he lectured me with horrible attitude. I will never come back.
Update: my friend convinced me this place is good so I gave it a shot yesterday. I bought two sticky rice cake for $8 and they look horrible. Avoid this place at all cost!

Food is no where as good as it used be, location is very dirty. Owner and management does not care and are very rude when you mention anything to them about how unclean some of the area where the food is displayed. STAY AWAY!

I went in planning to buy 10 items, but ended up with 20 due to how things were presented to me. I felt misled and pressured into purchasing more than I intended. It’s important for customers to feel respected and not pushed into decisions they didn’t plan on making. I hope future interactions are more transparent and focused on what the customer actually wants.

I grew up near this place as a kid over 30 years ago and would ride my bike to get the 6 for 5 deal on the sandwiches. I’ve been through several times since moving away. Though I’m sure some ownership changes happened over the years, the quality and taste is still very close to how I remembered it as a kid, which keeps me coming back. This is a family-style business and it has been around since the 1980’s. Others try to use a chain model or change the product to fit some kind of trend and this kind of food does not fit those models. Very unique dive. Keep the dream alive, Ba Le’ Garland!

Recent visit to wrap some sandwiches. Special combination sandwich tasted better than most other local sandwich shop. Good deal only if you buy 5 and get 1 free. One thing I don’t feel comfortable when walking into the shop with all smoky scents. Business sandwich or temple?
