First time visit to Cider Lab. Our group of 6 was well-taken care of by our wonderful server. The food was piping hot, tasty and fresh. They have a creative selection of ciders which can be easily sampled. Coffee was topped off to keep us alert on the drive back to DC.

You will not be disappointed by coming to spend time in this establishment. The food alone is worth the drive. Brooke helms the kitchen and also spends time on the floor. She is talented, engaging and most of all wants people to be happy with her food. She offered to make minor tweaks to items on the menu to suit my flavor profile- which I truly appreciated. The ciders cover the full range from traditional to quirky- all of them worth trying. You may not like them all; but you will be glad you tried them. The space is bright, not too loud and comfortable.

This place is a must. Period. The drinks are so good, and the little test tube flights are such a fun aesthetic! All of the ciders I tried were lovely, nothing was anything less than spectacular. The food here is also great, my pulled pork sliders were great, the fries are SO good, and my party all loved their meals as well. The staff were great and the vibe was very relaxed, I will be coming here so much more often!

I love this place. The beef Wellington bites are amazing. Love all the ciders. Try the habanero and the strawberry and blackberry.

Stopped by The Cider Lab during a quiet stretch around 3 PM and was immediately struck by the warmth and attentiveness of the staff, and possibly the owner. Their journey from winemaking to crafting small-batch ciders is inspiring, and it shows in the quality. Each cider tasted exactly like its name promised (Mango Habanero, anyone?), and the food was impressively polished. A creative, welcoming spot that’s clearly built on passion and precision.

Great brunch spot. Solid brunch menu. They have trivia nights every Thursday at 6 & 8 pm. Bonus points because they have gluten free toast and buns! My wife and I will be going back to try the bottomless cider mimosas with our next brunch.

I like that they have a window to order food and you can pay and leave without having to wait to be served your check. I was surprised it seemed like rib meat on the pulled pork sandwich, very tender. The burger itself was a bit strange to add to pulled pork, like holy cow calories.. but it wasn’t bad. The burger meat lacked flavor compared to the pork. I thought maybe they used pre-packed burgers instead of doing it themselves, but can’t be sure. I asked for no pink and there was a lot of pink in mine. I enjoyed the food though, solid 4 stars. I will be back to try the Brussels Sprouts. The chips and dip were very good too.

Negatives: Sticky table made me nervous about cleanliness and the water tasted very bad, not triple filtered, not R/O.

Cider Lab

Gourmet burgers, small bites, and appetizers are their choices for eats. As the name implies, they are a small-batch cidery, providing a large assortment of ciders, perrys, and jerk’ms. It is a fun little place for small group gatherings or just a nice meal with friends & family. On Thursday’s, they have a friendly trivia night. We went here on a Thursday, to enjoy a good meal and try our hand at a bit of trivia, too. The two of us split the charcuterie board and the Chef Specialty Burger. Tonight’s special burger was a full-sized burger with a complete fish filet on top! For drinks, we chose the cream soda on tap. While the charcuterie board was just your typically fare, tasting good and fresh, the special burger was the star of the show. The burger was cooked just right and the battered fish filet was perfection! The house-made chips on the side were a nice touch, too. Every single staff person we encountered was extremely friendly and helpful, attentive and serving with a smile. The main person in charge of the trivia game made it a fun evening for all. The prices for food were a bit high for the appetizers, and slightly above average for the gourmet burgers, in my opinion.

Was really disappointed with my experience this evening at Cider Lab. We got pickle chips, cowboy caviar, a spotsy burger, a fish and chips with truffle fries, ginger ale, root beer, and an elderberry cider. Our first issue chronologically was that the menu said free refills available for fountain drinks, so when we switched from a ginger ale to a root beer, we did not expect to get a $5.50 charge for each drink. We were not informed when ordering. The Cowboy caviar was not a hot cheesy dip as stated, but was actually room temperature and relatively solid. The next issue was when I ordered my spotsy smash burger, I asked for no fig jam and to add sweet heat sauce. When my burger came, it did have fig jam and did not have sweet heat sauce. When I asked the waitress about it, happy to get it corrected if possible, she insisted there was sweet heat sauce on it (there was not) and that the fig jam was honey – not listed as an ingredient in the burger but I did not want to argue. I asked for a side of sweet heat sauce instead. Nobody at our 6 person table got a refill without asking, and she asked us to close our checks and THEN asked if we wanted dessert. When one of our party decided to get dessert, they got the cheesecake, which was served entirely frozen. Like, frozen frozen. Solid.

In conclusion: not worth the $108 we spent.
Elderberry cider: 8/10, pretty good
Ginger ale: good but not our vibe
Root beer: 10/10
Cowboy caviar: was maybe good if it was hot
Pickle chips: 7/10 liked that they were cut longways
Spotsy smash burger: fine but I don’t like sweet stuff on my burgers 🙁
Fish and chips: ok at best, seasoned unevenly.
Truffle fries: could not tell the difference from regular fries if my life depended on it, and we tried both to figure out the difference

Service: really lacking in my opinion, I didn’t even feel comfortable asking about the double drink charge on the bill or why we were charged $4 more for the fish and chips than the menu showed. After her insisting I was wrong about my burger, an easy fix that was not her fault (assuming it was a kitchen mix up) I did not want to even attempt about $10 on the bill. Could not wait to get out of there and will not be returning.

Disappointing after hearing good things. Frustrating place to drop $100.

We were waiting in line for the Italian restaurant ITAVIE across the street, and we came here just for a quick drink. It turned out to be such a pleasant surprise. We liked everything, from the scientific design , the relaxing vibe to the special flavors of the apple and pear cider. We particularly liked the kiwi and strawberry cider. Their food was also pretty good. We enjoyed the Brussels sprouts and southern BBQ burger, and the artichoke and spinach burger was just okay. Overall, it’s truly a hidden gem!
