Been wanting to stop here for a long time. Have the Flint Hills Passport that gives discounts at lots of restaurants in the Flint Hills.
This discount is for bogo appetizers. Onion Rings and Cheese Curds. The onion rings are the thinnest I have ever seen. More like onion strings. The are very tasty. I had hot chicken sandwich. Enjoyed it. My wife had Reuben. The meat was a little different but lots of it. Need more dressing. Still alright. Finish off with peach raspberry pie. Never heard of it before but it was good.
This is not a 5 star restaurant but it is good comfort food from a local diner.

Excellent food stop. I enjoyed the atmosphere of cowboys of the Flinthills. There is a Lot of tasty food served on your plate. The owner is very nice and has done wonders with this place.

Had the “old school burger”, with tater tots. Wow so good. Tots were done perfect and the caramelized onions were done just right. Burger was cooked perfect and the bun was so fresh it was like it just came out of the oven. Wait staff were so nice. Can’t say enough about my experience. If you’re out this way you should do yourself a favor and stop in and eat.

My order arrived to me perfectly cooked the way I had asked. Staff was friendly and restaurant was clean. My suggestion would be you also purchase one of their Gunslinger hot sauces as it is one of my favorites and if you like flavorful spicy sauces it might be yours too.

EDIT: we expressed our concerns about the pancakes, and got a fresh batch. These were delicious. I had the blueberry pancakes, and they were plump, fresh blueberries. So tasty! She also brought us new syrup that seemed more normal. We found out our server is the BRAND-NEW owner and only her second day running the place. Apparently, quality had suffered under the previous operators. Definitely worth giving a chance. If we come back through here, I would like to stop back in and see how it goes.
Really nice-looking local cafe. Unfortunately, the coffee was watered down, the syrup was watered down, and the pancakes had a strange, terrible tang to them. Good service, and popular with locals, but I can’t recommend it.

Traveling through Strong City saw the Chuck Wagon restaurant stopped it. It was rodeo Night so they had a special menu. My husband is on a special diet and couldn’t have the meals the way they offered them. So the waitress got us the original menu to chose from and made the meals the way we asked. Everything was delicious then she said bring in your drink cups I will fill them for you.so friendly and accommodating. We will be stopping there again on our way through.

this place just reopened from covid shut down so it was still slow going. the waitress was brand new but very friendly and helpful, as was the cook, who was more than happy to give his opinion and 2 cents on ordering. Food was great and inexpensive as well. Great little place and worth the stop for sure.

This new cafe is a welcome addition to the already wonderful attractions in Chase County, Kansas. It is just newly opened and offers full breakfast, lunch and dinner menus seven days a week. The interior is open and fresh with an emphasis on the Flint Hills and the cowboy contribution to the area. We have had breakfast, lunch and dinner there and the food is always excellent and the service is outstanding. We are most happy to welcome the Chuck Wagon Cafe to Chase County, and we’re looking forward to many great times and great meals there.

I ordered 2 pancakes with the ham and bacon, and water. On the menu, this was $5.99. At the register, I was charged $11.10 after tax. $11.10 for two pancakes? Come on! In response to reply: The menu actually states Bacon and ham or sausage. Also, an automatic 18% gratuity was added without notification, which would be fine if they told me first, but they didn’t.
