We visited Best Biryani and More on our first day in New Jersey while on a family trip to New York. Being from Kerala, we were excited to try their food, especially since they offered dishes like Kerala Porotta and Kerala Beef Roast. Unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing.
Starting with the Kerala Porotta, it was anything but fresh. It was hard, dry, and unappetizing—more like a rock than the flaky, soft porotta we know and love.
The Kerala Beef Roast looked promising and visually appealing, but the taste didn’t live up to expectations. It was below average and lacked the authentic flavors we were hoping for.
The Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biryani was the saving grace of our meal. The rice was excellent, perfectly cooked, and aromatic, with tender and flavorful chicken pieces.
The biggest letdown was the King Fish Biryani. It smelled off, as if the fish used was old or not fresh. This completely ruined the dish and made it impossible to enjoy.
Overall, while the chicken biryani was decent, the rest of the meal fell short, especially for the price and our high expectations. If you’re from Kerala and hoping for authentic flavors, this might not be the place to get your fix.

Tried this restaurant for the first time today. As of now it’s only TAKE-OUT. No seating. Food was amazing. Authentic home-made flavors. Ordered the Andhra Boneless Chicken Biryani, Appam with Kerala Mutton Curry, Kappa with King Fish Kerala curry. Delicious. Will surely visit them frequently.

From the tantalizing aromas as I entered this restaurant to the super tasty Biryanis, I am definitely visiting Best Biryani & more again. We tried three of their biryanis – gongura veg biryani, Kerala chicken fry biryani (choice of basmati or seeraga samba rice) and Hyderabadi dum goat biryani. Each biryani tasted unique and had a very good portion size. This is a take out only restaurant and it takes some time for your order to be ready, so make sure that you order in advance. The prices are slightly higher from what is shown online. The owner was friendly and kind.
