After seeing Jamie’s post about free kids meals, I decided this was my new spot. However up until this evening I had never eaten here. I’m glad to report the food was delicious. We were happy to hear that they had grilled options for the chicken and pork chops. We ordered pick up and the food was still hot and crispy by the time we got it home and plated. The Mac and cheese was delicious and my husband and daughter really enjoyed the catfish and they are picky about it!

Went for breakfast on a road trip and this place exceeded expectations. The best part was Christopher’s service, excellent! Pancakes were sweet and fluffy, and potatoes were nice and crispy. We will have to come back the next time we are in Mississippi!

Jamie’s may be a culinary kaleidoscope, but that’s part of its charm. I also would give them a 3.5 but can only do 3 or 4 so I went with 3 due to some issues.
Taylor, our server, struck a perfect balance between attentive and unobtrusive, scoring a full house on service. I can’t say enough nice things about her.
So, the good:
1) The service sets the gold standard.
2) The ambiance is clean, spacious and unexpectedly cozy.
3) The Philly meat receives high praise from both myself and my wife.
4) Fries: crispy and flavorsome, even if they might be pre-packaged.
5) Fried mushrooms are “yum” – subtly tasty, allowing the mushrooms to be the star.
Now, the “meh”:
The decor resembles a cultural cocktail, mixing Italian art, a sports corner, arcade games, and more. It’s eclectic, and a little disjointed, but still has its charm.
Now, the bad:
1) The shrimp Po’Boy was left high and dry without the crucial “Comeback sauce.” Daughter had to settle with the trusty ol’ tartar sauce (she’ll live).
2) The great bacon famine was a downer, especially on burger night. I hear new pigs are to arrive any moment – let’s hope, because no burger should be without its bacon.
3) The Philly sandwich seemed to be playing hide and seek with its promised pepper-onion filling. They did find the hidden bell peppers and onto the Philly they went.
They fixed it with a bowl of green peppers (sadly, no onions but I wasn’t going to be too fussy).
5) I’m new to MS so maybe the prices are high everywhere? I felt like I was paying for gourmet food but getting regular home-cookin’. Maybe I’m just used to Oklahoma, even though I thought MS was supposed to be even cheaper!
Final Thoughts:
Jamie’s, in all its quirkiness, is a bit of a puzzle that is on the verge of making me want to keep trying. Though it offers an excellent service, I feel like the ambience and a few culinary disappointments pull it back. The menu might need a reduction with the pricing, but the menu is small enough not to overwhelm the indecisive.
Jamie’s is not without its charm, but there are areas that need a bit of work. But, because of the service and flavor, I’ll be willing to give it another shot in hopes that they aren’t out of anything the next time.
It’s definitely worth it to go sit down and eat, but for a family of four, it may not be something most people will be able to afford.
Prices:
Po’Boy: $14.00
Cowboy Burger: $15.00
Philly Sandwich: $14.00
Philly Fries: $12.00
Mushroom w/gravy: $9.00

My coffee was warmer than my food. The bacon was like extra crispy/ burnt it was crumbling. Christopher seemed like he had an attitude. I saw the owner but I didn’t have the chance to speak to him. It was ok I wasn’t too thrilled the biscuits were good, but I feel like my homemade biscuits and gravy is better than this. I get it people make things different but dang this was like a hotel version of bs&g.

The food had no taste. But the prices sky high as if they are 5 star restaurant. How is a kids meal $13? Seems like the cooks have changed from People down south to idk who.. Definitely NOT worth the money! Nope ↔️

Gross! If you want everything out of a can this is the place for you. Atmosphere is weird and service is even more weird. We left without eating. No one even came to check on us. Don’t tip if you have to stand to order, get your own drink, napkins, etc. No one will come to the table so what are we tipping?

Had the catfish plate today. The fish was fried perfectly, crispy yet soft. The fries are spot on. My wife had a burger. Always a good choice. If you are in Clinton, and Hungry Jamie’s is the spot to satisfy you. They also have live music on the weekends in the evenings. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

“Disappointing experience at Jamie’s Restaurant. We tried to call in an order, but were put on hold indefinitely. No one got back to us, so we ended up going elsewhere. When we visited the location, it was empty, which made the phone experience even more puzzling. The staff seemed overwhelmed, and it’s clear they struggle to manage even a small amount of customers. Jamie’s must be a joke because his business is one. Maybe it’s time to reevaluate their business model and prioritize customer service. Not recommended.”

This is probably THE saddest breakfast restaurants I’ve been to. Got the breakfast platter and when it came out, it looked like actual school cafeteria food. The only thing that looks made from scratch were the overcooked scrambled eggs. No service, nothing. Would rather have Waffle House than this mess.
