Unfortunately, the pizza itself was a huge disappointment. We ordered the 16” taco pizza, and it just wasn’t good. My boyfriend wasn’t a huge fan of the pickle chips, but the bigger issue was the pizza crust — it had a strange taste that neither of us could get past. We love pizza, and this was the first time we couldn’t enjoy any of it. After a couple bites, we tried scraping off the toppings to salvage it as a taco salad, but the tomatoes tasted off too, and that completely killed our appetite.
I don’t remember selecting a crust type online, so if it was gluten-free or missing an ingredient, that might explain the odd taste. Either way, we ended up throwing away a $32 pizza and an order of pickle chips, which was really disappointing.
What interest me, was the time it was open. 11a
My coworkers wanted to try Red Angels (GM plant, at Roanoke, Indiana). We are indeed pizza freaks. From huntington pizzas, Markle Fat Boy pizzas, Elmos n wherever.
This place has potential, I love the flaky crust, but the dough seems overmixed n it usually dry n hard after baking (as in cookies, biscuit n cakes).
I was sick at the time, wanting some pizza, maybe my taste buds were dull, it definitely needs salt n garlic salt.
(I love a little bit of salt)
Sorry for the unsolicited adive: don’t overmix the dough, keep laminating it (fold overs for flaky crust❤️) n let it sit in a closed barrel for a day to have that fermented beer like taste.
Notes to herself-bring salt n garlic salt with you. The atmosphere is a beautiful, small pizza shop.
I will come back ❤️
Horrible customer service. Ordered online, waited 30 minutes past the end of the time window given, and tried tons of times to call in to check. Kept getting a busy signal. So I drive in. On a hunch, I called them while at the counter. It rang busy, but no one was on the phone! Old trick of slowing orders by tying up the line still is in use apparently! Once I actually got someone to speak with me I was told they hadn’t even started the order.
I informed the staff that I wanted a refund on my card but only one person (the owner) could do it, and “not right now”. So I wait some more…over 20 mins more to get told the owner left on delivery run. If your staff can’t run the shop, DON’T LEAVE THE BUILDING!
Worst of all, I got the “we’re understaffed, you don’t have to rude” line that is a knee jerk response post COVID. Their poor staffing decisions are not my fault. I’m not rude to want service, they need to get their act together.
