I would recommend this restaurant. Parking is little difficult.
This was my third visit to South Indies Veg, and the experience keeps getting better every time. The food is consistently delicious, the ambiance is warm and pleasant, and the staff is friendly and welcoming, making it a great spot for families.
Highlights:
1. Weekend South Indian Thali – Loaded with a wide variety of dishes and authentic flavors.
2. Davangere Benne Masala Dosa – Buttery, flavorful, and absolutely satisfying.
3. Family Masala Dosa – Crispy and huge, easily enough for 2–3 people.
4. Mini Rasam Vada – Light, comforting, and full of flavor.
5. Mudde Basaru – A must-try authentic Karnataka specialty.
6. Gongura Paneer Biryani – One of my favorites, perfectly done in true Andhra style.
They also offer many Jain options (no onion, no garlic, no carrot), which is a big plus. The menu includes an excellent range of Tamil, Andhra, Karnataka, and North Indian vegetarian dishes.
I strongly recommend this place for anyone looking for authentic, high-quality South Indian vegetarian food. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We tried their 4-foot dosa & it was not just a meal, but an experience. Perfectly crisp, served with a variety of chutneys & sambar, it’s a showstopper dish that’s great for sharing.
What really impressed us was the variety they cater to Jain & vegan preferences without compromising on flavor which is rare to find. Every dish tasted fresh, authentic & thoughtfully prepared.
The ambiance is modern yet warm & the staff is attentive, making sure dietary needs are understood & respected. Portions are generous & the presentation makes it feel like a festive celebration of South Indian cuisine.
Highly recommend going with friends or family & the giant dosa is a conversation starter on its own.
Definitely a new favorite spot for vegetarian and vegan-friendly dining in Sunnyvale!
Thursday’s Karanata cuisine special with Ragi Mudde was amazing and sooo yummy.
Cant wait to try other day’s other south Indian state’s specialities
Very good service and warm welcome
Loved it, was so full but so happy ☺️
Thank you for good food
Update:
Went back again then again
Tried jackfruit and mushroom biryani (my fav spot for biryani atm in bay area )
Makki ki roti and sarson ka saag (except makki rotti everything else was great)
Ada pradhanam and vada was also good
Even tried family lunch thali which was great
Update:
Have become a regular now lol, coz its so yummy, rasam rice is my another fav
Dishes I’ve tried – the Bangalore Masala Puri, Veg Cutlet, Medu Vada, Mango Lassi and Filter Coffee.
1) Bangalore Masala Puri – 4/5.
They have the flavor spot on and one of the few places that sell masala puri in the Bay Area.
Although it did taste slightly stale on a few bites. Probably one of the ingredients wasn’t very fresh? Idk. Hopefully they make it with fresher ingredients next time
2) Mango Lassi -5/5
Absolute winner! One of the best mango lassis around. It’s at the right level of sweetness and consistency.
3) Veg Cutlet – 3/5.
Got 3 pieces of cutlet and it was perfectly breaded crispy on the outside. The filing was potato and peas. The taste was alright, however, the oil used to deep fry was probably not fresh/ filtered. I could see the burnt remains of previously cooked food in it. Picture attached. Not something I expect off of a restaurant.
4) Medhu Vadai – 2/5.
Comes with Chutney and Sambhar. Please please use salt in it. It’s average at best, unless they fix the recipe.
5) Filter Coffee – 2/5
Small cup, not strong enough. Could be better.
Probably won’t be back, except for the masala puri, whenever the unpaid legit reviews go higher.
Tried Paneer 65, Set Dosa and Davangere Benne Masala Dosa
Paneer 65 3/5 DO NOT RECOMMEND . This lacked flavors.
Set Dosa :2/5, The most DISAPPOINTING dish. It was not like set Dosa. I don’t think restaurant knows what set dosa is supposed to taste like. You must research it. This was More like Kal Dosa. Was not that good. The Saagu was like Masala Poori masala with vegetables. This is not the right combo
Benne Masala Dose : 4.5/5 This was good ,Recommend this Dish
Overall rating 3.5/5 I feel the place is new and they try to do well and on some days it may miss.
Visited this place based on recommendation from a friend who liked it.
May be with a little more consistency the place can grow.
