While visiting Hawaii, my husband and I decided to explore the less touristy side of Oahu and was ready for lunch and stumbled upon Got’z Grindz online! It was a bit difficult to find, you really have to drive slow when you’re on the street so you don’t miss the building. Seeing the exterior you wouldn’t expect to find so many different kinds of musubis neatly organized and displayed, plus we were greeted by a wonderful aroma and friendly staff!

There were SO many musubis to choose from, not to mention the amazing smell coming from their beef stew, beef curry, gyudon, and more! We finally decided on Gyudon (Beef bowl), Spicy Tuna Musubi, and Tuna Takuan Furikake Inari. The beef in the gyudon was so soft and tender, the spicy tuna musubi was just the right amount of spicy and had nice soft fluffy rice, and the tuna inari was something new that I tried, and had some interesting flavors but all in all tastes great! Everything was so flavorful, so delicious, the portions were very generous and the prices were super affordable! Not to mention there’s so many different options that you’ll have to go back a few more times to try everything!

Since the spot is more of a grab and go kind of place, the lady who helped us kindly recommended a nearby botanical garden which was great because musubis are the perfect for picnics! We will definitely be back next time we visit Hawaii, Got’z Grindz is a must visit for musubi lovers or anyone looking to try local comfort food.

Came by early morning to samps some musubi and have a few later for the beach. Their selection is great and the auntie at the counter was so friendly. The unagi was our fav, and the vegan spam was pretty solid but you can still tell it’s mock meat from the texture. The tofu spam was really good too, with ‘ono furikake! Their teriyaki musubi however had no teriyaki flavor/sauce and just tasted like a classic spam. Would love to come back and try other flavors and samps their bento too 🙂

Ono musubis and local grindz. I’ve been craving gyudon for a long time, since shirokiya closed, and now I got a new go to place for gyudon! Get the regular size cuz it’s flavorful and delicious.
The musubis are really good, the rice is soft and the nori isn’t chewy. The custom combos are on point, my favorite so far is the tuna and takuan. They have a bunch of musubis laid out on the counter, and you can make your own combo too.
There’s two fridges with cold food, drinks and sauces.
The karaage chicken is very good too!
The service is very friendly and there’s ample parking next to the building.

It was amazing. They have different flavors of musubi and some really unique ones. We picked out a few and asked the woman there for her favorites too, and everything was so good. Favorite was the cold ginger chicken one or Miki! The picture is a list of their house specialty ones, and we did a sampler pack of all the house ones and they were awesome, but there are a bunch of other kinds too.

Small, off the road location, but it’s WELL worth the stop! Perfect place for us to find musubis to grab and go. Tried their sampler this time to try a bunch of different ones; they’re all so differnt but super tasty! Garlic noodles were ono too! Next time we come back, we will try their plate lunches! Staff here was very friendly and so helpful!

Hands down the best musubis we had on the island. Perfectly filled, perfectly seasoned, prefect rice. Can’t ask for anything more than that! Favorites: spicy tuna, spicy spam, furikake spam.

I Google mapped food in Kaneohe and this place popped up! They have a parking lot (about 10 cars) next to the building. Pretty open space inside. Two small fridges of cold drinks, sauces , somen salad, and desserts. On the table they have their musubis laid out with signs and prices. Their menu behind and above.

Since this was our first time, we picked up a musubi sampler – the tuna was my fave followed by the spicy karaage and salmon. We also picked up dynamite chicken and a Portuguese sausage and egg musubi – ono.
Nice people and good food to go! I want to go back for more!

Wow, this musubi spot is so underrated! My husband and I only stumbled upon here through google maps while we were driving because we needed a quick breakfast. We were both pleasantly surprised with our find. There were so many options to choose from.

We grabbed their kombu umeboshi onigiri and their egg/spam musubi, which were both so good. Their flavors were very well-balanced and suited our palate well. There was no overpowering of flavors. We felt like this spot was way better than some of the other very hyped up touristy musubi spot recommendations. Super friendly service as well!

If you’re on the windward side of Oʻahu and hungry for some ono food, check out this place for musubis, beef bowls, and more. Lots of variety, friendly service and easy to access with plenty of parking. Enjoy!
