Exceptional is the only way to describe Catch! While on vacation in Ocean City, at the Scarborough Inn, we took a chance on “Catch”. When you walk in the door your eyes open to a new look , so different from most in the area. The atmosphere is modern, upbeat yet warm because of the incredible staff working at Catch. Bright orange napkins adorn the tables as well as the ties and tee shirts worn by the staff. The menu includes many fish dishes with choices of sauces adding to wonderful flavors.
We shared an appetizer of calamari & peas and a small garden salad. We both ordered the Bronzino filet, mine with the Margate sauce and my husband had the lemon/olive oil sauce. The fish was so fresh it was like they had caught it before plating our dish. As a birthday treat they brought out a lemon ricotta cheesecake. All absolutely delicious! Our waiter was Fabrizio, professional, warm & friendly. Along with his team he made sure our dinner experience was memorable. We went back again later in the week for an after dinner drink. I consider it my new favorite restaurant and highly recommend it.

Lived on the island a decade and somehow just getting here. The food is absolutely delicious. The martini menu is extensive. The restaurant itself is so pretty. On the pricy side but you get what you pay for. Can’t wait to go back

Went here two weeks in a row. Both times, the meal was outstanding. Service Exceptional , and the staff beyond friendly. Considering it’s a shore town, they really got their act together. Try the pork chop, it was amazing.

Had a decent dinner this time. Honestly nothing to write home about. For the cost of the meal, it could have been better. $100pp for a salad, entrée and one drink. The tomato salad was very fresh but not much flavor in the vinaigrette. The beet salad was much better with the goat cheese mixed in. The South Philly pork chop was the highlight. The soft shell platter didn’t look very appealing, but maybe that’s the was that dish looks like. $2 extra for lemon and olive oil sauce on a piece of grilled fish. How else would they make it? I know every restaurant in margate is pricey, but this seemed a little above that, given what we had.
Service was spotty, but they were nice. We were at the farthest table from the restaurant (outside) so maybe it was that.
p.s. they changed the way cars park on the street so you no longer feel like you’re going to be run over. And the drinks now have a little something on the rim e.g. lemon wedge or watermelon slice (it used to be just liquid and ice. Maybe they read my review from last year and made the change!

Sat outside. It was very pleasant. (You are right at the parking area so every time a car pulls in or out you pray since there are no bollards)
Service was very good. Everyone was working very hard. We felt very taken care of.
Bar drinks were good with interesting selections but there was no creativity. No lime or herb or cherry on any of the drinks. Just liquid and ice. Could have been a little more inspired. Wine list was extensive and the ones we had were very good and reasonably priced.
Food was tasty and plentiful. The shrimp were jumbo. The lobster was cooked well. The salads were good. We had the Milan and the Caesar. My seafood dish had a ton of seafood. All very good, (but 4 of the 5 clams didn’t open so didn’t eat.)
Inside the average age looked about 25 and outside 65.
All in all, a very nice evening. And I will be back.

Unreal decor and elegant outfits across the board for staff. NY Strip and shrimp was very well portioned and good. Drinks look amazing but were okay for that day. Will def visit again!

VERY Poor experience June 2025. My husband & I visited daughter/ family in OCNJ, & decided to try Catch for dinner. First impression– a very ‘uppity’ vibe.(a turn off!) We stayed for drinks & dinner to give it a fair try. The service was terrible – 1+ hours to receive our dinners! Waitress had an attitude, seemingly bothered that we didn’t order 5 appetizers first to increase the bill. Food was a huge disappointment. Portions were smaller than what we are used to (when spending $350 for dinner we expect to like it & be full!!) My daughter, a vegetarian, thought the salmon was horrible (how do you mess that up?) & couldn’t eat it. Everyone else felt the same about their dinners. The basic pasta bolignese I had, well, let’s just say mine is much better and I’m not a cook. I think this explains our experience pretty well. We won’t be back. (Wonder what changed between the other reviews from a year ago & now? New chef? New manager?)

Absolutely the best meal I’ve had in many, many years. Chef Joe is a master of seafood and everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. If you are in Atlantic City and want a satisfying and delightful meal experience I highly recommend you drive to Longport in Downbeach to Catch.

The food was very good. That said the service was maybe mediocre. Certainly unattentive. Even when you ask for things like a plate to eat off of, nobody brings it. Forget about filling your water. Once again, I don’t know if it’s a new generation of restaurants, untrained or Just Margate/Longport service but it makes the night not enjoyable. It was a Thursday night so it wasn’t about a rocking crowd. 5-6 tables empty all night long. If I was chef, I’d be upset because his food was really good. But his service really sucked.

Great restaurant, awesome staff, service was top notch. Food was absolutely delicious. The only thing that let it down was a few loud people sitting at the bar which took away from our dining experience.

Great ambiance and service. Awesome app (salmon biscuit not pictured). And loved the sautéed soft shells with lump crab and side spinach! Can’t wait to go back.
