Service is so great. The man who took our order was extremely welcoming. Food all tasted well. The ambience, especially in afternoons, is wonderful, it’s a bright airy space with lots of natural sunlight. Broad selection of alcoholic drinks including spiked hot chocolate/eggnog for this time of the year. Would probably be a good place to catch up with friends because it’s fast-casual, cozy, lots of table space, and there’s no rush to turn tables

I visited Tortilla Express while I was doing business downtown and I was very glad that I made that lunchtime decision!
The food was stellar! I got the chimicanga al pastor and the meat was so flavorful and the sides and toppings for the chimis were fresh and everything was just scrumptious. The service was charming, as the man brought my food to me p personally and I didn’t even need to leave my seat. Drink options are nice and if you need a little alcohol with your meal they have a full bar. I didn’t try the desserts but they look great too!
Definitely going to come back to tortilla express and you should, too!

Amazing food! We intended on going to the restaurant across the street but it was closed. What a gem we stumbled upon! The food is so fresh and delicious… let’s not forget the drinks… the Jalepano-Cucumber Margarita… !!
It is clean and quiet. The staff is very kind. We had to make a return trip as we were leaving town… and they remembered us… and my drink order…

Absolutely fantastic food! They were unfortunately down a cook so the wait was a bit longer than usual, but that’s not a problem when you get such good food! The lady at the front register was a delight. 🙂

This place is an absolute disaster and shockingly unprofessional. The food was awful, and the service was beyond unacceptable. They completely forgot my wife’s order, and when we pointed it out, they had the nerve to make us wait while they served every other customer first—despite the mistake being entirely their fault. On top of that, they messed up two more orders in our group and expected us to just accept food made incorrectly, including ingredients we explicitly asked to be removed. No apology, no accountability, and no effort to fix the situation properly. Save your time and money and avoid this place at all costs.

Fantastic new Mexican restaurant that is definitely worth your time and money. The food tasted amazing and came out very fast. Everything tasted fresh. The restaurant is amazingly clean on the inside. The staff were all very nice and knowledgeable about their menu options. Do yourself a favor and stop by, you will not be disappointed.

#1 Taco Place around. My boyfriend and I came into this downtown area with an opened mind. We just moved here and wanted to explore, and this was by far one our top mentions. This location is very new (considering we went here two weeks ago and it didn’t even hit the map yet) and we thought we hit jackpot. Large atmosphere, lots of seating, very clean, bar area, and the food was fantastic. We ordered steak tacos, a chicken burrito (all build your own toppings!), chips & guacamole, and a horchata. All very flavorful and freshly made to order. Although the horchata is not so sweet.. The chips hot and fresh which was an amazing surprise. Everything was delicious and very filling! (We had to take home leftovers:) ) I recommend everything we ordered, cannot wait to go back for more! Make sure to repeat your order if anyone has trouble understanding 🙂 Very nice staff. Can’t wait to see how they decorate! Welcome to Rockford!

Every food option I’ve picked was great. The dining area and kitchen are extremely clean. The staff and owner are friendly. They have a bar for eating or just drinks. Margaritas are perfectly made. Highly recommended

We came here for the first time today and we were so surprised with the space and the food! So spacious inside and there’s a bar. We ordered steak tacos and a steak rice bowl. Both were absolutely fabulous! They bring you two salsas for your food (green and red) and they were both really good. The queso on the rice bowl was delicious.
We will absolutely be back. We love that we found another place to love in downtown.
