I chose this place for my husband’s birthday dinner, and the entrance alone set the tone. Walking into the secret space and waiting for the curtain to drop felt like the start of a show!
Every single dish was delicious. I’m usually a huge Uni lover, but the other courses here were so outstanding that they stole the show. My personal favorite of the night was definitely the Unagi absolutely amazing.
The service was truly next-level. Both the manager and the chef were incredibly attentive and observant; they anticipated our needs without being intrusive. As introverts, we really appreciated how they balanced friendly small talk with giving us space. They really knew how to “read the room” perfectly.
A few minor notes: Even though I mentioned it was a birthday celebration, there wasn’t a special dessert dish or candle. They did offer a celebratory shot at the end, but since we don’t drink alcohol, we missed out on that.
Regarding drinks, I had read other reviews mentioning a potential push for alcohol orders (since there are no add-on options), but we didn’t feel that pressure at all. As soon as we ordered soft drinks, they immediately took the hint and didn’t force anything on us, which we appreciated.
Overall, I highly recommend this spot for a delicious Omakase meal and a unique vibe, rather than strictly for a special “event.”

No words! We went last night and the whole experience start to finish was an exceptional experience. From the ambiance, the service, the professionalism and quality of food… and sake lol. One of the best omakase experiences I’ve had. And the best in NYC hands down. Can’t wait to go back!! Shout out Tim, chef Noda & Jimmy! You guys are incredible!

This is such a special place — you’re in for a treat! We’ve been coming here for our anniversary for the past two years and it’s wow’d us each time. There are only two seatings a day and 8 seats in the entire restaurant, so a very intimate experience. The chef and staff are chatting with you the whole time and are so knowledgeable and talented. They often research their guests as well — they knew all about my partner’s work and running hobby. (I guess I was harder to find info on!)

The food (as well as sake/wine pairing, which I highly recommend) is SUCH an experience. The best sushi I’ve had, hands down. Everything is presented so beautifully as well — each new sake and/or wine is brought in a new gorgeous glass.

This is always at the top of my recommendation list for friends and family seeking the right spot to celebrate a special occasion.

I had a best experience with this omakase.
First, the food was amazing, 20 course menu including sushi and appetizers, all really good, well balanced!
Secondly, the service was amazing, chef, bartender, and hosts were all friendly and welcoming and we felt really comfortable and had a good time!
Third, atmosphere is amazing!
Very unique and I feel like different from other normal sushi omakase for sure!
I can’t wait to come back again!

Absolutely outstanding experience from start to finish. The food was exceptional, with every detail thoughtfully executed. You can truly see the chef’s pride and precision in every dish—it’s a pleasure to watch him work.

The general manager, Tim, deserves special mention. He’s incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, and ensures every guest feels taken care of. The sake pairing was one of the best I’ve ever had and I would highly recommend adding it to your experience.

Overall, Noda delivers an unforgettable dining journey. I can’t wait to come back on my next getaway to New York.

A destination restaurant. Absolutely exceptional. Tim the GM and the rest of the staff are simply top notch without being pretentious or overly attentive. A small intimate restaurant that allows Chef Tsunoda to engage with every customer, answer questions, laugh, and hone each dish specifically for that customer. Chef Tsunoda’s skills and creativity are truly worth the experience. The array of dishes during the 20-30 courses was diverse, superbly prepared, creative and absolutely unique. If you are seeking the best omakase experience (perhaps anywhere), try Noda.

A wonderful and memorable meal and night. From food to service the entire meal was excellent. The 22 courses is well balanced and perfect amount of food. And for those who enjoy omakase the experience still helps teach you more about the meaning and process behind everything chef tsunoda does. The restaurant is just as beautiful in person too. We will be back for sure.

My girlfriend and I have slowly been making our way through the plethora of omakase restaurants in NYC. I reserved this tasting counter for her birthday and we were not disappointed. This was the most high end tasting we’ve done, yet the staff and the chef did not make the environment feel rigid or too proper. They were professional yet personable, very knowledgeable and made the experience an incredibly fun time for all. They kept things loose, for lack of a better term. The chef had a great charisma and you could tell he took such pride in his work. The food, immaculate and well done. At one point the chef asked if there was too much or too little wasabi in the nigiri. I simply replied “it’s perfect” because he was a true master of his craft. The environment was incredibly welcoming and it felt as though the staff loved what they did. We received a complimentary glass of bourbon and white wine for my girlfriend’s birthday, a wonderful end to the night. The pictures I took are limited as I try to immerse myself in the experience while I’m there, but the food was too beautiful not to grab a few pics. Well worth the money, do not hesitate to book!

The sushi counter is a beautiful and intimate setting for 6 people for a 2 hour event. Couples are seated close to one another but far enough away from other customers to feel comfortable and private. All 6 customers are served by a single sushi chef who gladly converses with patrons. The waiters are knowledgeable about each drink, especially for the sake pairing which was ordered by the couple next to us. For $385 per person, we were treated like royalty and the quality of the sushi, sashimi, appetizers, and dessert were fitting. It’s a great dining experience that should be saved for a special occasion. Given the cost, however, I would not come here on a regular basis given the diminishing returns on omakase once they exceed $100-200.

Best omakase experience! From sitting next to the chef, engaging in interesting conversations about Japanese culture, to the excellent service and gorgeous glassware. The food was delicious, and we tried the sake pairing—it was a great idea, as it complemented all the courses on the menu. Definitely a well-earned Michelin star!
