This place is doing it right! Fabulous selection of Korean food at a good price and tasted phenomenal. Seasonal drink options, limited alcoholic options (which is more than I expected anyways). Service was great, owner was kind and respectful. Great selection of games to test out for all ages. Table cover charge if you didn’t order $20 worth of food was very reasonable. Will definitely be coming by again!

Had such a great time at Roleplay Madison! I tried their bibimbap (hands down the best I’ve had in Madison!) along with other Asian dishes, and everything was absolutely delicious.
I also loved spending the evening playing board games with friends in a cozy, welcoming environment. The staff were super friendly and made the experience even better. A perfect spot to eat, play, and catch up with friends — highly recommend!

I met up with a few people from the conference I’m attending to get to know each other and check out Roll Play. We had a blast! They’ve got a cute library of games, some great food, and bubble tea – I tried the Catan Sunrise! The person who helped me was super welcoming. As a fellow board game café owner, I’d definitely visit again if I’m back in the area.

Fun atmosphere, good selection of food and games. The building the cafe is houses in is gorgeous. There is something for everyone in the family. We tried the bibimbap w tofu, chicken kara-age, salmon poke, braised belly pork and rice and several boba drinks. All generous servings and fresh tasting. Huge selection of games too. Nice high ceilings and spacious tables, conducive to playing games. If we lived closer we would be regular visitors!

I ordered one boba drink there- I stood and waited for more than 20 minutes, even though there weren’t that many people. The front counter employee was constantly on his phone not giving updates for the excessive waiting time, there was no warning at for the wait time and it ruined the whole experience as I was in a time crunch.
If you go here I would suggest you go for hours and plan on waiting.

I love this place. The staff, the food (Korean) and the games are amazing. Teokbokki was amazing!!! They would waive $5 fee if you spend more than $20 as a group, which was really nice.
There are a lot of games, they said more than 250 games. The location is perfect with other restaurants or a pizza place like Ian’s pizza. The restroom super clean right next to it.
One thing I would like to add is to have staff become the expert of the games and help explain how to play each game briefly or recommend games based on the styles of games players are looking for. I have been to different board game cafes in different cities. They always have something like that. The first time we were there, we spent most of the time reading instructions.
Now that I’m thinking about going back, I feel a bit discouraged because it feels like I can’t just spontaneously go there and have fun but I have to do some research of what games they have and what I want to play and learn how to play it first so I don’t waste time reading instructions again. And when it comes to games and fun, it shouldn’t take this much effort.
Just some suggestions you can consider. Your place has a lot of potential and I’m rooting for you!

Delicious food! Amazing tea with so many combinations, I’ll never run out of new things to try! And an extensive game selection that is well organized and labeled so you can easily pick up something new. I’m sure the staff are helpful with game selection too, I just didn’t have the chance to play when I visited. Next time!
