I’ve been looking for a quality Mediterranean food restaurant in Sonoma County for a while, and I’m really glad I came across Urban Deli in Petaluma. The experience was phenomenal from start to finish. Not only was the food some of the best Mediterranean food I’ve had, but it’s honestly the only place locally where I’ve found this level of quality and authenticity in every dish.
The owner, Sam, was incredibly kind and welcoming. He greeted us, took the time to talk with us, and made us feel genuinely appreciated. He even offered extra desserts and sauces to go with our meal, which was such a thoughtful touch. It was clear right away how much care and passion he puts into his restaurant and the food he serves.
I highly recommend Urban Deli to anyone in Petaluma or the North Bay who wants to support a great local business and enjoy some of the best Mediterranean food around. I’m already looking forward to coming back for my next visit.

We’ve been to Urban Deli in Petaluma well over 20 times, and it’s always amazing. Our go-to is the chicken kebab plate…tender, flavorful chicken served with rice, fresh cucumber salad, creamy hummus, and warm pita bread (all for under $20!) The food is consistently fresh and delicious, and the portions are generous. The owner is incredibly kind, and his family is just as wonderful. They have Turkish coffee, desserts and Dubai Chocolate also, if that’s your thing. Please support these local owned, family gems. Definitely one of our top three favorite restaurants in Petaluma!

We had an absolutely fantastic experience at this spot. We ordered the lamb shawarma and the lamb and kufta plate and everything was incredible. The food was full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and served in generous portions. The owner was awesome, very welcoming, attentive, and clearly passionate about what he does. The service was excellent, the restaurant was spotless, and it felt very authentic. If you’re craving genuine Middle Eastern or Mediterranean food, this place is a must-try.

We got the beef kabob & chicken shwarma wrap & chicken gyro and they make it from scratch. They are fairly big so we shared. We also tried the pistachio baklava. It was make in house and delicious. Not very sweet and good. There is indoor/outdoor seating.

I hesitate to say I fell in love at first bite, the love was growing while I debated my order! Good energy, smells great and I witnessed kindness, genuine caring from the owner. I also ATE that falafel like I’ve never eaten before, it was delicious. I’m sharing a photo of the lovely Joyce’s lunch, as I got my food to go. Yo, Petaluma, don’t sleep, get some healthy and delicious Mediterranean food at Urban Deli. I’ll be back!!!

This was disappointing. I definitely won’t go back.
I got a sampler. The Taboule was so spoiled it was fermenting. I could not eat it.
I gave 3 stars to the food because the others in our group got unspoiled food & thought it was pretty good.
There is a strong detergent smell inside the Deli.
The lady working there is not at all service oriented – which is a shame because the gentleman is.
They charge a 3% fee on CC payments but don’t advertise it, which they are supposed to do.

Place is amazing!!! Food is always fresh and incredible flavors. Our favorite is the chicken shawarma bowl. Just don’t eat the peppers unless you like heat 😉 Love their desserts as well.

Urban Deli is so tasty! Their falafel bowl has got it all, tasty falafels, seasoned greens, turmeric rice, pickles, I LOVE it! If you haven’t been here yet I highly recommend you check them out. The owners are so friendly and their food never disappoints 🙂
