My husband & I have been grateful to live so close to BAE so that we walk to pick up our orders from this family owned carry-out business. We LOVE the food and order when it’s a busy week because we get two meals (at least) from one dish. The owners are friendly as well as competent. I notice the poor reviews are typically from Local Guide folks. What’s up with that?

We love this place!!! The food is delicious! They run a great business. And are family owned! Their bourbon chicken is amazing!

Pleasantly surprised with the food and service! I came in for the first time and they greeted us and even seen we were staring at their menu sign and offered us paper menus to skim through! They offered me a free water instead of charging me for the bottled water. Super friendly and big smiles on their face! The food was good, no surprises and exactly what I ordered! Amazing value!!!

Sesame Chicken somehow had a carbon, burnt taste, while also being mushy and under-done. Found multiple bones in my boneless chicken. Egg roll had a very odd, bitter flavor. Sweet and sour sauce was almost flavorless, watery pink in color. By far the worst Chinese food I’ve ever ordered; an absolute joke.

My friends and I were on our way to Pittsburgh from Lexington KY, and made a pit stop here to get Malaysian food. Do not ever miss the Fried Flat Rice Noodles!!! (Or Char Kuey Teow as we call it in Malaysia). Kuey Teow’s typically need a good ratio of ingredients (bean sprouts, shrimp vegetables, soy sauce) to rice noodles, and this definitely had it. We were also given a spicy sauce to eat it with, absolutely delish. The owner was very friendly. Highly recommend if you’re a Malaysian/Singaporean looking for some good Char Kuey Teow!!

Super cool little hole in the wall place with awesome food. Barely have room for 3 people to stand inside and order but that doesn’t matter, the food is absolutely worth it. I’ve been ordering the shrimp fried rice and the beef and brocoli and my compliments to the chef, it’s always the same guy back there cooking and he does a great job. The beef and the brocoli are both good quality, they don’t skimp on the meat and just give you all brocoli, it’s a very generous amount of meat and of good quality. The shrimp fried rice is outstanding, the shrimp are very good size and a good amount are included with the order. I will continue to order from here, definitely worth going back to.

I’m sorry to have to write this, but this is, by far, the absolute worst Chinese food I have ever eaten in my 47 years of life. I don’t know how it could be so horrible!

Everything that we ordered was beyond bland and had no really memorable flavor. EVERYTHING – it didn’t matter what it was – tasted burnt.

We ordered the honey chicken. There was no honey flavor in it at all; the sauce had a watery texture and was golden brown in color. The chicken pieces were not golden brown, crispy bite-sized chunks. They were mushy, nasty as hell, flavorless, chunks of meat.

It tasted burnt, as if the oil they used to fry the chicken was burnt and older than God himself.

It was God freaking awful!

The fried rice that came with it was – I’m honestly at a loss of how to describe it.

It tasted like a mixture of 75% to 25% fresh to old rice. It lacked flavor, except for tasting burnt. It was brown colored – as if they used a variety of brown rice. The rice gave the appearance of being soaked in soy sauce, but it didn’t have any of the flavor. Such a disappointment.

We also ordered the pineapple fried rice with vegetables. There were a good amount of vegetables in it, but they were flavorless in an odd mix of crunchy and mushy. The rice itself was the same as the rice from the honey chicken, just with veggies added.

All of the food that we had today was burnt, flavorless, mushy, and bland.

It was all just straight-up nasty. I thought we had found a good place, due in part to the many good reviews that i had read – and the fact that an Asian guy at my work had ordered from there and he said it was good – but it seems painfully obvious that none of these people had actually tasted real good Chinese food in their lives.

This was just God freaking awful! Never again will I ever go here. I hate to say it, but I’ve had better food from Panda Express! Hell, I’ve had better Asian food out of a gas station!

It pains me to leave this review because the people there were so freaking nice! They are the most lovely couple I’ve ever met in my life! Their food was just God freaking awful!

We honestly couldn’t eat it all. A waste of $25.00 with tip.

I feel awful leaving this review because the owners were so nice but the food is lack luster. My boyfriend and I came here yesterday on a whim because we visited Clintonville natural foods next door and were hungry so we took a few minutes to look at their menu outside as we’ve never tried this place before, so we gave it a shot and honestly we were both very disappointed in the food quality. We both ordered orange chicken with a chicken lo mein and a vegetable fried rice. The fried rice and lo mein were pretty decent, the orange chicken however was not that good, sauce was watery and lacked every bit of flavor. I hate to say don’t waste your time here unless you like bland food, but in my experience and opinion there are better options out there than this one. I wanted to love it so bad but it didn’t meet my standards. I’m also a bit upset because I’m out $31… :/
