I think their seasoning is delicious. One of the reasons I went. I was very disappointed in the chicken tenders. Ridiculously small. Wings being small I can understand but the tenders those are cutting corners. The fries were on the stiff side. I recommend different fries. Honestly, the type that they serve can be overly cooked easily. By the time I got home, they are hard as a rock. The shrimp was the best thing on the menu that I tried. The mild sauce was misleading. It wasn’t spicy at all. It was almost sweeter side. I’m not sure if I was given the incorrect sauce, but I was very disappointed in the sweetness. I was expecting different. I doubled back and purchased okra. They were some pieces that were hard and I’m not talking about the ends. More so the skin other than that the okra was delicious. I wish I had gotten the extra seasoning on them that I paid for.
Also charging for extra seasoning and not being able to get on the side is wild. How are you knowing you’re giving your customer extra? Do you count the amount of time your wrist thrusts? When it looks covered to your liking is that extra? How is it quantified? What if it’s not enough extra, do you charge me more for more shakes of your wrist?
Would I go back? Yes, to give the entire menu a chance

I had a great experience, D was very nice and cooked my food to perfection. It didn’t take long at all. Everything tasted great. I took the flat part of the wing into my mouth and the meat came clean off the bone. They were actually nice size chicken wings. You guys made me feel as if I were back at home. It’s good to taste some familiar food. I so badly wanted to cry but I was so happy. Thanks!

Fried gizzards are great, Food is good, only thing I didn’t like is the whole wings are very small! Do not order whole wings if you want meat on the bones. I had flats and drums before and that was a decent size no complaint. And they do have a poster explaining the size difference. I just think it cost to much for baby whole wings!

10323 Causeway Blvd, Tampa, FL 33619 . Perhaps I went to the wrong location. This Kay’s kitchen sits inside a gas station. I was looking for Chicago style wings. My order was okay in taste . But I didn’t like the fries. Hard old fries. The chicken was okay , what makes it Chicago style? The only thing close enough was the (mild sauce) but was not made on the spot like they do in Chicago. The chicken taste like it’s been sitting for a while . The price I paid was not worth it. 50$ for 18 mediocre wings , no thanks

This kitchen is a small section of a gas station. It is meant to be take out even though they list eating in. The pics i upload will show the eating in. Drinks must be purchased separately from the gas station.
Food is cooked to order. I had the basa breaded and fried fish sandwich. The piece of basa was very generous, but twice the size of the bun. Trying to pick it up to eat as a sandwich resulted in large pieces of the fish protruding from the bun separating and falling off. The flavor was good, though too salty.
I also ordered fries, which were a generous size order though also too salty.
I might return to try the chicken, though I would only do so to take out.
Service was friendly and very good. I wish them well and hope they are able to make changes that will make eating there a better experience.

I rated them this way because for one the gas station is a no. The chicken seems to me it was recooked and fried too hard. The fries probably were air fried I have no idea what the white stuff is on the top of the chicken. My first time trying them because of instagram lol social media is wack when it comes to reviews. I’m not going back we paid $35 for this I could have saved my money!

I moved from Chicago 10 years ago. I have yet to find food from home. Kay’s Kitchen Food truck is a few blocks from me and it’s the closest food to home I have eaten since I been here. I hate when people fry fish and chicken in the same grease. You can taste it. The sides like the fried okra is amazing. I will be back!

Very disappointed. I’ve been following Kay on social media for months & have been trying to get her for a while. Drove here from wesley chapel last night. Ordered 6pc whole wings & added shrimp. The food tasted ok. 3 of the wings were tiny. Literally the size of a drummet. If I pay $15 for 6 “whole wings” I expect them to not be the size of a tiny cornish hen wing.
They also do not have condiments. It would have been nice to have ketchup packets & napkins in the bag.
Kay thank you for your response:
I did not see any signs posted in the drive thru & I ordered wings with shrimp as an add on. The girl in the window did not offer any of the condiments that you’ve mentioned. All I wanted was decent food for the asking price & good customer service. My expectations were not met.

The food is always fresh and delicious. It is a bit pricey, so we have it as a treat for the family. I do not like the gas station vibe. It is clean, but just a bit different. The staff at Ms Kay’s is awesome.

Absolutely love that Kay’s reminds me of when we lived on South Bell Street in the 90s in Englewood(Chicago). I definitely drop the mild sauce all over my fries every time and put them in a brown bag and pretend to be in Chicago LOL. The chicken is absolutely amazing and don’t get me started on the fish
If you’re from Chicago and live in Tampa, definitely stop by for a small piece of home and Kay and the staff are so beautiful
