I ordered a large catering order of carne asada, pastor, and chicken tacos for a surprise birthday party for my friend, and everything turned out amazing. The owner was easy to communicate with and helped us plan the entire thing. We were able to pay in advance through the app so on the day of the party all we had to do was double park on Central Ave and load up the car. Food was HOT! on time, super fresh, and a very good value. The salsas were awesome too, especially the hot one! We even mixed a little into the margaritas for extra kick!
I was really craving refried beans so I got nachos and an el pastor taco.
The taco was pretty good and I enjoyed it however the nachos were such a disappointment.
First of all – there were NO refried beans as described.
I only got the nachos for the refried beans. But I tried to just enjoy for what it was.
Except it was honestly completely tasteles
Steak, guacamole and chips… both the steak and guacamole were tasteless.
I will probably try them again, ( no nachos!!) but my first impression was a let down.
I tried to reach out to the manager to rectify the situation, and both the counter person and another man I spoke with were apologetic and assured me that I could receive a refund. However, the owner, Victoria Olivos, took the phone from the gentleman I was speaking with and was appalled by my situation. She was very defensive and argumentative, assuring me it was impossible I could’ve gotten sick from her food, though not going through her food safety measures. She indirectly accused me of lying, when I have no reason to, the circumstances after eating their food affected myself, my nanny, and my husband who had to call out of work to take care of our kids while I was recovering. My symptoms are also improving after 24 hours, which also is consistent with food poisoning. The owner refused a refund and I don’t appreciate their unprofessionalism and lack of empathy.
I ordered 3 birria tacos. They were 4.25 a piece. Not bad, but then they asked if I wanted to add cheese for $.85 a taco. $$5.10 per taco is lofty, at best. I got my Taco’s and there was no birria sauce to dip the taco’s in. So I asked and the birria sauce is an EXTRA $4!
In this economy times are tough, I get it, but you can go to Congress street and get 4 Taco’s for $13
Skip this place. The food is okay, but price wise it’s Criminally not worth it.
I, asked the girl.over counter what was her favorite torta? And she recommended the Al. Pastor. Tender not dry, and a little char with diced pineapple
My wife had the vegetarian torta
I can’t wait to return to try the rest of the menu
