This is my favorite Mexican Taqueria in the region- if there is one meal I always want and crave it is their Birria De Res Tacos- it is so good— stewed beef with tortillas crisped with Chili Oil- once you start eating it nothing else exists! Villa Picante stands with the respected taquerias in San Diego- our family did a taco crawl there last summer —when we returned it was a reminder this place holds in the ranks with the best tacos! We are so lucky to have this place in our community- make sure you try their food- everything I have tried is delicious!

Tried their new spot in the Poughkeepsie Galleria today, and got some carnitas tacos. Super friendly, quick service.
Tacos were so delicious, the pork was cooked perfectly and was so flavorful. The toppings were very fresh. I’ve been craving LA street tacos lately and this satisfied my craving.
My only small qualm, if that, was that the tacos had one tortilla instead of two, but they were corn which I prefer, they were delicious, and they still held up. Plus they gave me four tacos, and I was well fed. So I’m really not complaining.
I’ve been wanting a fresh taco spot (or any real food honestly) in the mall for years, and having this place here is glorious. I will eat here every time I’m in the mall now. Looking forward to trying the rest of their menu. (I also did have their Birria once at their Wappingers spot, those were also legit.)

i LOVED this place. the restaurant is small but enough seating and very cute. the woman there was so so sweet. we celebrated my brothers birthday and she sent us home with free dessert. SO sweet. service was great and fast and the food was OUTSTANDING. i got the birria tacos and they did not disappoint. the guacamole was so fresh i couldn’t stop eating it. i definitely recommend this place. the prices are good, the service was fast. a great spot to grab a quick lunch or really any meal. will be back!

Be aware of what you order at this restaurant. The BBQ wings were over killed with BBQ sauce after deep fried. I couldn’t finish my dinner or drinks.
The ice machine needs cleaning, there are small particles floating in my drink.

Excellent atmosphere. Feels like a true Mexican restaurant. Staff was very friendly and courteous. Ordered flautas, chips and guac. Stuffed jalapenos. Everything was great. Fresh. Even the chips were still hot.

In a hidden plaza on Rte 9 in Wappingers across from Adams. The place was empty but the woman was very welcoming. I think she owns with her significant other who was also there. The place is immaculately clean. The prices are great. The food was fresh. Not only by taste; but the wait. She packs everything up nicely and presented it as a small package/gift. Gives you plenty of sauces. They have a drink cooler and a tv playing music videos while you wait. I’m assuming they are originally from the city. Hope this Mom & Pop restaurant does well, since there are so many other Mexican eateries in the area plus there tough location. Overall, if you want clean environment and fresh food. Go!

Tried this local Tacos and More Restaurant. My waitress was the daughter of the owners who just graduated from high school. A real family-owned and operated Mexican café located on highway 9 in the town of Wappingers Falls. The food was all really fresh and recipes authentic Mexican. We had the beef street style tacos and pork Tostadas. Every thing was made scratch and in small batches right down to the tortillas. Up till now if we wanted real street tacos we would head to Newburgh but now we have the real deal just a few miles away.

Stopped by on a whim! Will come back on a regular basis. We had the fish tacos and a carnitas burrito. The tacos were the best I have had since moving here from the west coast 6 years ago. The fish was fresh and firm and cooked perfectly in a light batter. The coleslaw tasted like it was just made and the sauce was very flavorful. The burrito was filled with rice and cheese and carnitas and onions and all were fresh. The tastes combined to something out of the ordinary and super tasty. The owner/waiter was very helpful and a pleasure to talk with. Add this one to your Want to Go list. See you there.
