Went to Three Ponds for the first time tonight. It has a lot of small town charm to it and is exactly what small town taverns in New England should be. It’s been around for 31 years (I believe that was what the owner, who is also the cook and is also 78 years old) said. The bartenders/waitresses are super friendly and helpful. The owner/cook/great conversationalist, Gary, is AMAZING! Such a friendly guy with great stories to tell. Not only does he talk but he listens! He greets patrons, personally checked how our meal came out, and even brings food out at times. Just such a kind, friendly, welcoming environment to be in. Kind of like walking into CHEERS, I would guess. Many locals and YES “everybody knew their names”! This place is a place (and people) you do not come across very often, if ever, especially in the food industry!!! Well worth a visit! Don’t let the appearance of an older building deter you……you’d be missing out big time! The building and decor are absolutely part of the charm of this place!!!

We stopped in randomly for a quick drink while passing through. First impression: definitely a little divey. The parking lot felt off, with what looked like an abandoned trailer next door. No greeting when we walked in, and we weren’t sure if we should seat ourselves or order at the bar.
You walk straight into the bar area, which is small, old, and had a musty smell. It wasn’t until later that we realized if you go to the right, there’s a dining room—that would’ve been helpful to know, but there wasn’t any signage or direction.
The bar was full, so we found a table in the back and waited to see if someone would come over. Eventually, the bartender did. There’s a lot of decor on the walls, and the place clearly has its regulars. The owner was sitting at the bar in an apron, and one regular stopped to tell us the haddock was the best thing on the menu.
We didn’t try the haddock since we were just there for a quick bite, but now I kind of wish we had. The onion rings and fries we got were just okay—nothing special. Overall, it was fine. Not great, not terrible. Maybe worth a second visit just to try that haddock everyone talks about.

Milton 3 Ponds has the best Seafood special on Friday nights!! Delicious! Great portions for the money. Plus home made Onion rings. Garry sells out fast. He is a wonderful Man. He greets his customers when he can. He shares stories about Milton. He is so kind to children. Don’t just drive this sweet restaurant of goodness!! It is just one of the home town restaurants you must enjoy.
3 Ponds menu won’t let you down or leave you hungry. The cooks and staff are hard working and kind.

Had the haddock sandwich special. Food was wonderful. The atmosphere was classic old time tavern with all the locals having lunch and a beer at the counter. The service was friendly, attentive, and quick.
