However this is in a very small town.
You would expect the wait staff to be dressed in clean, neat clothes.
There is nothing at Hillcrest that makes it a “Supper Club” except the name and the prices.
So all in all, it’s more of a bar and grill with the bar separate from the dining room, poorly dressed (meaning dirty and sloppy looking clothes) wait staff that offers decent food.

The last two times times I have been here, they have been sold out of prime rib. We made a reservation an hour after they opened. Waited 20min after our reservation just to get a drink order and not even be able to fully put in our drink order before being inturped. I’ve been in the service industry, Maybe consider ordering more if you know this is a popular item.

Ness and Shelly made this Texas traveler feel very welcomed to their establishment. And Trista is a wonderful dining hostess.
The fried walleye was absolutely fantastic! The meat was fresh, flaky, and hot to the very last bite. The breading was perfect! Just the right amount and so crispy and flavorful, without a hint of grease. Add the salad bar and you’ve got a meal.
Friendly locals make this a place you’d want to go back to. And if you’re lucky, the mayor of Moose Point might be there to offer some advise on fishing Blackduck!

Waited well over 8min to be seated. If you’re a cabin goer and not a local you are definitely treated a bit differently. The hostess was rude! So we left and went back over to the Pond to have a cheeseburger. They have a much friendlier staff!

Jim is a great chef, and Shelly is very personable. I love the relaxed atmosphere, and you just can’t get a better view of the lake. Always a good time at the Hillcrest in Blackduck, MN. Lobster and steak, or pizza, Jim always makes sure it’s just right for his customers. They are all gracious hosts at the Hillcrest.
