The Fourth Coast Cafe really surprised me in the best way! ✨ The BLT was absolutely outstanding and easily the star of the meal. The homemade white bread was fresh, soft, and full of flavor — you could instantly taste the difference. It made the whole sandwich feel extra special and truly memorable.
I also tried the beef barley soup. While it leaned a little more on the salty side than I prefer, it was still warm, hearty, and comforting It definitely had that homemade feel that makes you slow down and enjoy each spoonful.
Overall, this is a wonderful place to stop for a satisfying lunch. Great flavors, cozy vibes, and food that hits the spot! I’d happily come back again.

We had an oil change and service work scheduled at a garage in Massena and took a 20 minute walk to this restaurant. So glad we did as the whole experience was great! We enjoyed a fire side breakfast which included home made bread. 5 stars and then some!

I don’t care for generic breakfasts in hotels and while searching for a local breakfast place I ran across this independently owned shop.
I was not disappointed. While breakfast items are difficult to screw up, it can be done. Not so here. Everything was made to perfection, the coffee hot and strong, and to top it all off, the bread was made on site.
Service was efficient and very friendly, it’d be my go-to place if I’d live in this town.
Can only highly recommend this great breakfast place!

The Fourth Coast Cafe impressed with a fantastic BLT! The homemade white bread was delicious, and the sandwich itself clearly stole the show. The beef barley soup was a bit on the salty side, it was still hearty and comforting. Overall, a great spot for a satisfying lunch.

Hands down the best breakfast/lunch place in town. Some of the reviews don’t do it justice – the menu seems “the same” as others in the area but the difference is in the details: All the lunch meats (except for the ham) are prepared in-house, then sliced. Soups are made from scratch daily. The generous “cup” of chili comes in a bowl. For a small upcharge you can sub your sandwich bread for a home-baked sliced bread. Sandwiches come with a cookie but Boston cream cupcakes are worth adding on! Breakfast portions are massive. A pancake is the size of the plate and the loaded oatmeal is a shareable portion. The murals and seasonal decor have no parallel in the neighborhood. The service is speedy and cordial.

This COZY little place was exactly what we were looking for for breakfast…delicious freshly ground coffee ☕ and made to order food. My husband ordered 1 pancake, 2 eggs and sausage and I had oatmeal with fresh strawberries. The pancake was so big it almost didn’t fit on the plate! (I should’ve takin a pic) You also had a option of REAL maple syrup! All the food was DELICIOUS! Highly recommend this cute place….you’ll be happy you went! 1 more thing…. the ambiance was PERFECT with hand painted murals and sweet old world decorations from grandma’s kitchen.

The chef salad was huge! Even split between 2 plates it was more than enough. The Reuben was made with Texas toast sized bread. Sadly, I ended up eating the filling and disposing of the bread.
The server, who. I later learned was the co-owner, was a lil off her A-game. While the cafe had only 3 or 4 tables occupied, she seemed distracted. My lunch mate asked for re-fill of ice water and I asked for a small box. My friend got a glass of iced tea and I finally approached the counter to ask for the box after waiting nearly 15mins to which she replied “oh, yeah. Guess I forgot”
All in all, not a bad place but not a great first impression either.

My first visit was yesterday and my only regret is that I hadn’t eaten here sooner! Lovely, inviting restaurant and staff. The food is great, portions large, prices reasonable. And the creamy tomato soup is delicious. I’m a turkey club fan/ snob- their turkey is thin sliced right off the bird!! Really an artisan breakfast and lunch spot right here in Massena! Homemade bread, yummy baked goods too! I can’t wait to go back!
