Little bar and restaurant close to Boyne Resort. Food was phenomenal with large portions. Be aware they have seating for about 30 and it is pretty tight . Excellent whiskey selection and drink prices if you’re into that

Good food but hubby ordered smoked brisket sandwich and got pulled pork instead. Hubby didn’t want to complain. Reuben was pretty good but not very smoked tasting. Sweet potato fries were excellent and the horseradish for dipping was just the right kick! Our server was very nice.

We stumbled upon The Whi-Ski Inn on one of our road trips.

We loved it! the service was good and the food was fantastic!
My wife and I love a good BBQ Joint and this did not disappoint!
Everyone was super friendly, the atmosphere was good, the prices were quite reasonable.

Great location too, close to several activities and fun places to explore. Nothing Better than Summertime in Northern Michigan! I haven’t visited during ski season, but I imagine it’s perfect for that as well.

We’ll definitely come back again. Highly Recommend!
Keep up the great work Whi-Ski Inn Team!

The jalapeño bacon firecracker appetizer was awesome. Best whiskey selection I’ve ever seen. Don’t let the exterior fool you. This IS YOUR local secret place.

Had the sausage, corn beef, and brisket with the hush puppies and fries. Also tried the pulled chicken and mac n cheese. It was good bbq, corn beef went well with the gold sauce. Brisket had a good smokey flavor was a little dry. Sausage was smokey with that good texture, I used the bourbon bbq sauce with it and have no complaints. Chicken was moist and that buffalo sauce was awsome. Mac n cheese was decent, pasta wasn’t over cooked and the sauce was gooey and cheesy a little bland by itself but with that buffalo .

So I drive past the whiskey inn twice a day, six days a week and have always wanted to stop.I am a truck driver so I cannot stop because I have a semi.Truck I live east of g******, so it is about a 45 minute drive. I went online, looked you up. Looked at the menu sent my son to the restaurant to get takeout. So we could eat your food while watching the Lions game. They refused to sell me 90% of what is on your menu? Because evidently, you have a separate takeout menu, which did not appear in the Google search
The person Working There became very combative and nasty when I asked for an explanation.
I asked a simple question. What is the difference? If you cook a slab of ribs which are precooked, by the way, put them on a plate for a customer sitting in the restaurant or putting them in a box to hand to a person standing at the counter, there is 0 difference.
I asked to speak to a manager and was denied that opportunity. It will take a lot on your part for me to ever attempt to try your restaurant again. And I will tell every person I know and in gaylord, I know a lot of people to never come to your establishment unless this is somehow made right shame on you. And the only reason I gave you one star is because zero stars is not available. Again shame on you.

So I went to The Whi Ski Inn today to meet an Army Brother, I spoke with the manager on why they limit their to go menu, and I do understand the reasoning I still don’t agree with it. That being said, the food was really good. I didn’t like the way they chopped the chicken or the pork but that is just a personal preference… it was real tasty. the brisket and the ribs were very good as was the beans. Their variety of Whiskey was very impressive and a had a couple!! The service was excellent as was the atmosphere. I will be back.

Blink and you might miss this place when you’re driving through Boyne Falls. But you should stop… It’s a hidden gem with excellent barbecue, really quality drinks and a great atmosphere. The pulled pork and brisket are excellent. Not a huge smoked corned beef fan but if you’re into that sort of thing it is solid. I haven’t personally tried the burger but I’ve heard excellent things. Really solid whiskey collection as well
