It was great! Our waiter was very nice, the food was delicious, and we had arrived a few minutes after they opened so it wasn’t busy at all. Definitely want to come back when in town again. All this was about $122 (not including our tip) so you definitely have to bring some money with you.

Service was 10 out of 10, for appetizer I went with the ahi style salmon which had a good taste. The texture was good as well, but I felt like it needed more zest to it taste wise. I had the pork noodle Ramen, which the base was made with a marsala which was a bit on the salty side, but I did not mind it at all since I do eat a lot of my food salty. They do charge $1.50 for a small Ramik of chili oil which I thought was crazy because any other restaurant, whether it be Vietnamese etc.. They literally have the chili oil as part of the salt and pepper assortment on the table. They do not charge for the Sriracha, which was surprising since they did charge for a small ramekin of chili oil. My mom got the chicken teriyaki with fried rice on the side very well cooked very good flavor. My sister got the steak and white rice also very well cooked and well seasoned. But all in all I do recommend this place but just keep in mind. The Ramen are on the salty side, but in my personal opinion, what matters in places like these that are new here in the RGV is the customer service which was really good. I didn’t catch the name of the waitress, but she was very nice. She hit every point and was very attentive to our needs and we really appreciate that.

Atmosphere and service deserve 5 stars. The place is impecable, the service is FAST and very proactive.
The food was “okay”, not bad but lacking compared to other options; just very simple.
The Miso broth was over salted and still missing umami. The noodles were undercooked. The spicy cucumber is just sliced cucumber with tajin on top.
The edamame was great! The carpaccio was missing that extra that would make it great. All things aside, I think I’d like to visit again for a second impression.

I’ve traveled to Japan a couple of times, and this is the closest any restaurant here has ever come to capturing that authentic experience. The flavors, the presentation, and even the atmosphere felt remarkably genuine. We tried it for the first time yesterday, and every dish brought back memories of meals I’ve enjoyed overseas. I can confidently say we’ll be coming here much more often. Highly recommended for anyone craving truly authentic Japanese cuisine.

I came in craving something hearty and ordered the Kiwami Aka, and it completely hit the spot. The broth was rich, bold, and perfectly seasoned with just the right level of spice to give it that signature kick without being overpowering. The chashu pork was tender and melted in your mouth, the marinated egg was creamy and flavorful, and the fresh veggies added a nice balance.

The atmosphere inside Kiwami Ramen is cozy and inviting, with a clean, modern vibe that makes it perfect for a casual meal or a quick lunch spot. Service was excellent–friendly staff who made sure I had everything I needed without being intrusive.

Fantastic ramen! I came in for a quick, but delicous dinner and left highly satasfied! My order was just the Shoyu ramen but the chasu knocked my socks off! Im a hugh fan of pork belly in ramen and I was super happy with the texture, taste, and presentation of this ramen.

I would absolutely come here again! I got an extra bowl to go for my partner but he may not get to it before i do!

Had Spicy Ramen, Spicy Edemame, and Goyza and all were amazing. My wife enjoyed her meal and my daughter enjoyed her noodles as well. Over all great experience definitely my favorite ramen place in the valley. Thank you Kiwami for having excellent food and service and thank your team as well.

Went to the soft opening Friday, the place looks amazing after such a long wait I’m so happy to have a ramen place so close to edinburg. The owner greeted us she was so kind, and the staff was very attentive and informative about the menu. The food is fresh with beautiful presentations. The ramen is out of this world. Most valley ramen placed have a tex-mex flare, and this place tastes authentic! We had the crab bun, takoyaki, and gyoza the japanese beer paired so well with the appetizer. The ramen is fresh with thick broth. The pork was so soft and smoky the owner informed us the broth/pork is cooked for 20 hrs. The ramen left such a flavorful taste . Will definitely be coming back ! Highly recommend

We finally decided to give Kiwami Ramen a try after the initial hype died down. We had originally attempted to visit during their opening weekend, but left discouraged. It was packed, and there was no proper system in place—no QR code, no waitlist, no taking phone numbers. Just a disorganized “line” where people were scattered everywhere. The whole thing felt unprepared.

This time, we ordered four appetizers, a hibachi steak, and two different ramen bowls. As someone who’s been to Japan and experienced everything from 3-Michelin-star restaurants to hole-in-the-wall ramen shops, calling this “authentic Japanese” feels like a stretch—and honestly, a bit offensive.

All four appetizers missed the mark. The avo tuna came out on what looked like a Pringle chip, topped with bland tuna and seasoning dusted on top—it was the most flavorless tuna I’ve ever tasted. The salmon carpaccio was just as underwhelming. The gyoza had dough that completely overpowered the filling; I even opened one up to taste the pork on its own—no flavor at all. The seaweed salad was okay, but that’s pretty hard to mess up.

As for the hibachi steak, it was incredibly dry—tough to chew and lacked flavor, even with the sauce provided.

Now onto the ramen: if you’re going to brand yourself as “authentic” and serve paper-thin pork slices, it’s disappointing. For nearly $20 a bowl, the quality should match the price. I read they supposedly have a specialist for their broth and noodles—if that’s true, they might want to reconsider their hiring decisions.

Having traveled and tried ramen across the country and in Japan, I understand the appeal for those who haven’t had that experience. It might seem like a novelty or even great to some. But to me, this was genuinely bad.

The only redeeming factor was the service—our server was kind, and the food came out quickly. But fast service doesn’t matter when the food falls this short. I’d rather wait an hour for something done right than be served this again.

EDIT: As I reviewed the owner’s response to my review, I noticed that their only rebuttal was that “actual Japanese people” enjoy their food. They did not address any of my specific critiques—not the flavorless tuna, the poorly made ramen and broth, nor the dry steak. This response reflects what seems to be a strong sense of personal pride in being a self-owned business, to the point that ego appears to influence how feedback is handled. In my opinion, this approach is unprofessional. I hope the owners can learn to distinguish between constructive criticism and personal attack, and use feedback to improve rather than deflect.

First time at Kiwami Ramen, and it did not disappoint! The food was delicious with an authentic Japanese touch. The interior offers a beautiful blend of traditional Japanese design and modern contemporary aesthetics. There’s a nice bar area and comfortable seating. The background music leans towards bar/lounge vibes, adding to the relaxed yet lively atmosphere.

Prices are affordable—not overpriced at all. The place had a great crowd with lots of happy customers, which says a lot. All in all, the atmosphere was inviting, and the overall experience was very satisfying. I’ll definitely be coming back—and I highly recommend it!

Big plus: SERVICE. FOOD IS FAST
