I called to reserve a reservation for 4 pm on Valentines day. Me and my husband took his disabled Mother. When we arrived they did not have my reservation on their list . We wanted a table at a window close to the door because my mother in law has difficulty walking. We got her situated and the hostess told us our table had been reserved. There was no sign saying reserved. We had to get his mother up and get her to the next table which was not easy.
The people took the table and where very loud. My mother in law was very upset because she could not enjoy her visit with us. This place is lovely and the food is wonderful, but I was not impressed on how we were treated. I felt like those people were treated like family and we were treated like we didn’t matter. The hostess should have better manners and know how to talk to people and help with getting them moved, instead she was more concerned with the people who supposedly reserved the table and didn’t help us at all. A nice place like this should treat everyone equal, no matter if it’s the first time you have been there or the hundredth time you have been there.

Went to Cygnets for my 65 birthday for a seafood celebration today. They have great looking seafood items, but I was hoping for a seafood combination platter to try a number of items. Our waitress, Alex, was very nice and took my request to the owner. He agreed to having a great seafood combination meal prepared for my birthday. I expected it to be more expensive, but was in fact quite reasonably priced. Great meal, as always, and seafood was very tasty… and cooked perfectly. Highly recommend. We really enjoy each visit!

We were out exploring the area, as we are new to the northern neck and decided to stop in.
The catfish bites were very good. The pretzels, were good. The pimento cheese dip and the honey mustard were both delicious.

We arrived on a busier than usual Friday night (Oyster Festival weekend) and were told initially that we would need to wait an hour or more. But they did some work and were able to sit us in a semiprivate room within 15 minutes. Sara was our server and did an amazing job. We had Shrimp Alfredo and Shrimp and Grits. Both were excellent and were good matches to Low Country fare. We shared a slice of Key Lime pie from Warsaw’s Michelle’s Sweet Shop. The pie might have been a bit better had not been so cold.

A little salt or seasoning would go a long way and that’s coming from the girl who rarely uses salt and pepper. We had high hopes but we got there late and they were out of just about everything we wanted. Including sides like baked potatoes. We settled for 2 ribeyes but they were bland. No flavor at all it was just a hunk of warmed meat sadly. For the price, I just expected a little more flavor.
Now the desserts killed it. They were delicious the staff was a riot and made all the issues less of an issue as we laughed through most of the problems.

Another wonderful experience at Cygnets. Tonight we had one of the specials – grouper on Jasmine rice. The fish was perfectly prepared, fresh, and beautifully presented. While normally we end up having to take a carry out box for our leftovers, we ate everything almost to the point of discomfort.
