soul food restaurants don’t grow on trees anymore. I love stopping in here usually about once a week when I can as I live right down the road. when I grew up in Beaufort South Carolina, my favorite restaurant in town was a little soul food spot called Sergeant White’s diner. I loved that place, and I get that same feel good feeling at my three sons. True southern comfort food and great people. Do not sleep on this spot.

The fried whiting was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and the collard greens were seasoned to perfection. The mac and cheese was creamy and indulgent.

Let me just say that before my husband and I left, I was referring to the owner as “Mama” We came on a Sunday and were the only ones eating on the inside. There was a line for takeout though. My husband had to wait for his pork chop to be fried, but it was worth the short wait. We were given two small pieces of cornbread, when my husband exclaimed that wouldn’t be enough for both of us, they laughed and gave us two more pieces. We loved everything about this place and plan to make another visit before leaving for home.

Oxtails were delicious and the portions were huge! Fish and chicken are also delicious. Mac and cheese tasted like somebody’s mother made it. Tea with lemonade is perfect! We’ll definitely visit again when in Charleston.

Felt like I was back in my grandma kitchen eating here!! EVERYTHING was delicious. Ordered Fried Chicken, Smothered Pork chops, rice, baked mac and cabbage.

The food here is so delicious. I order the ribs Mac and cheese with 2 Greens. The Mac and cheese could have had more cheese but the Seasoning was delectable. They are more than willing to give you extra cheese on the side if you request it. The ribs a little tough But the sauce is amazing. I definitely recommend the banana pudding
