Last Sunday afternoon, my brother and I visited Kochevar’s Saloon on Elk Avenue in downtown Crested Butte, Colorado.
Kochevar’s is an Old West-style saloon housed in the oldest-running establishment in Crested Butte.
It was raining outside so we decided to head inside to Kochevar’s to wait out the downpour before heading to dinner.
The bar was filled with locals who were having a good time getting ready to watch the Avalanche win the Stanley Cup.
You can play billiards, darts and shuffleboard, and people were partaking of the various games and enjoying themselves.
Kochevar’s has free Wifi (ask them at the bar for the passcode), which is especially helpful since cell service in Crested Butte is spotty at best.
The bar staff was friendly and the drinks were cheap.
If you are looking for a local-style dive bar experience, this is the place.

Wouldn’t necessarily classify this as a dive bar, but two beers for $6 is a good deal. Plus free popcorn. And shuffle board! The outside tables with umbrellas is also a nice touch to stay cool in the summer

This place is so much fun a group of us from Breckenridge came down and had the absolute best time with Shelly the bartender. Peart, the doorman was also really nice and helped us out with understanding the rules of the shuffleboard table. 10/10 will go back was such a great time!

Locals bar with table games. You can get $2.50 PBR’s and Don Julio 1942. Was open later than other bar/restaurants. Fast and attentive service considering only one bar tender working, she was working really hard.

Cool little place to hang out in CB. Darts, Pool Tables, Shuffleboard and good drinks. Allow under 21 in before 9:00, so not a bad thing, especially if you have underaged ones with ya!
