At the risk of getting attacked, I must leave a lukewarm review of our recent dining experience. If it weren’t for our hostess/server, it would’ve been a wash.

I don’t know how any of the dishes are remotely inspired by Italian, French, & Spanish cuisines. Our Big Meatball spaghetti was…weird. The meatball looked good, but when we took a bite, the texture was too soft, almost completely breading with an overwhelming rosemary flavor. Rosemary seemed to take over the other main entree, a bland “Spanish” steak smothered with undercooked/overcooked vegetables, including horseradish-y (?) Brussels Sprouts, mushy broccoli, carrot sticks, & Delicata Squash, etc.. But maybe I was still tasting rosemary from the meatball. The bed of polenta needed salt & less grease. The salmon chowder soup of the day tasted lukewarm & blazing hot in spots, with stale to semi-coherent croutons, as if reheated in a microwave.

The tomato sauce, overdressed, on the meatball grew on me, but could’ve eased off on the wine/vinegary taste.

FYI, we aren’t going to complain about the food to the server. Most people don’t want their dining experience to be unpleasant — for anyone. It’s not her fault. That’s what reviews are for, to let others know what to expect.

An excellent restaurant that serves absolutely excellent food. My server was attentive, gave a comfortable amount of space, and was outstanding in communication.

They presented drinks I asked for before arriving upon seating us. The floral and sour drink had an adorable flower and presentation along with great flavor.

The Carbonara, Chicken Parmesan, and steak are all bold with flavor and extremely well-balanced. I highly recommend this excellent restaurant for a date night, anniversary, or other special occasion.

Service was great

Salmon entree was good
The sausage pizza with hot honey left ALOT to be desired. I’m not sure there was even an ounce of meat on the pizza, very little cheese. Dough was well cooked and good – not soggy. Picture is of our leftover dough since there were so little toppings – sad

First timers. Reserved a 630 table on a Saturday. Seated promptly, and water and service followed quickly. Our server, Lexy, took good care of us, taking our orders and staging our meal out without any rush. Able to enjoy our app and cocktails before mains brought out. Steaks were cooked perfectly, and the meal was fantastic! We’ll be back!

How have I never been here before, this place is amazing!! I got to watch the October fest patrons on 8th street while drinking a local hazy IPA, and eating what I think is the best pasta I have ever had in my entire life, while surrounded with beautiful decor and ambiance. I’m already looking forward to eating my leftovers and booking my next reservation. 10/10 would return and try as many more items on the menu as I could.

My husband and I ate here for an early dinner, and we thought that the ravioli and Chicken Parm were delicious. The service was great as well. Definitely a place we would return to.

Rustica is hands-down one of Boise’s best Italian spots. The food feels truly authentic—simple, high-quality ingredients done right. Every dish we had was flavorful without being overcomplicated, and you can tell real care goes into the cooking.

The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a date night or a relaxed dinner with friends. Service was attentive without being overbearing, and the staff clearly knows the menu and wine pairings.

If you’re looking for classic Italian done exceptionally well—great pasta, great wine, and a cozy, upscale-but-approachable vibe—Rustica is a must. We’ll absolutely be back.

A gem right in the heart of downtown Boise! Great happy hour specials on drinks – they are simply half-off! I had the beet salad, it was a generous portion and well prepared. We also had the table bread with both balsamic vinegar and a green garlic dipping sauce. Staff was friendly and attentive. We’ll go back!

My wife and I had our first visit to Rusticsa. The service was prompt, venue was relaxing. The peach barrata cheese salad was fabulous. Our server Hannah was very attentive and excellent. She was attuned to her patrons. She asked if we were celebrating anything special and we just said we were out enjoying ourselves after a particularly hard week. She surprised us with a very nice complimentary dessert with a nice note. I also thought the flatbread was very tasty. We’ll definitely be back. It’s great to have places to go that still care about their clientele and make them feel important.
