Glenelly wine estate is very beautiful with sweeping views. The food, service and local chardonnay were all excellent. So amazed to hear that the lady who bought the estate a few years ago was in her mid 70’s at the time and now 100. Age is just a number.

A gem of a place! Even though the menu has got potential for improvement. The food was delicious but could be elevated by a better presentation. The winter menu is just fair. Overall very nice place for lunch or dinner – fantastic terrace and views that set the tone.
The food is something between casual modern French and fine dining.
Unfortunately I noticed how the quality went downhill (last time had yellowtail tartar and it was half portion and totally bland + springbok fillet that was simply done wrong technic wise, jus was like broth – so watery and not was jus supposed to be).
but if you don’t seek fine dining experience and not very picky the place is great. Not expensive as well.

I’m not sure why it’s taken me so many years to have lunch at the Vine Bistro at Glenelly. Beautiful quality French bistro food. The confit duck was superb and the dauphinoise potatoes so creamy and garlicky

My partner and I have been to The Vine Bistro numerous times (we usually visit for our shared Birthday and anniversary).
Every element on the dish served to you has been well thought out & exceptionally prepared and paired.
The staff members are delightful and true professionals. It’s been a pleasure getting to know them over the course of the three years we’ve been visiting.

My first time at Glenally Wine Estate! I must say I loved every minute. The food is amazing the service was all star. We even did wine tasting after lunch. Nothing better to end your lunch with exceptional wines to tast from.

Exquisite French cuisine, tasty and beautifully served. Beautiful views on Stellenbosch mountains. Great wine – estate wine, but also other estates’ wine. Make sure you have time after your meal to visit the on site glass museum, with friendly and very knowledgeable and enthusiastic Delene to tell you about this beautiful collection of glassware and art works. Even Salvador Dali!

the vine bistro at glenelly was probably one of the best fine dining experiences i’ve ever had. i went there as part of the under 30s special for R290 which consists of a 3 course meal which is paired with wine.
for starters, i enjoyed the pan fried pork belly, apple and kale salad with roasted walnuts.
for the main course, i opted for the duck leg and it was absolutely delicious. the meat was practically falling off the bone.
for dessert, i went for the warm melting chocolate biscuit and spicy poached pear and i don’t regret it. the biscuit was the best melting biscuit i’ve ever had. it was the first time having a spicy poached pear and it was juicy, for lack of a better word.
everything was bursting with flavours and i’ll definitely be going back there for more meals. it is worth every penny spent!
