This instantly became my new favorite spot in the city. Located in River north, this complete dive is increíble. A humble, minimalist restaurant where you order at the counter then take your seat. I was completely blown away by the flavors and portion sizes of this place!!! We got the mouthwatering Allu tikka chaat which I renamed to savory Dubai chocolate!! Which was fried potato kind of like a samosa with garbanzo beans, chutney, yogurt sauce, and topped with crispy rice! Then I tried the Chiola momo with chicken filling and that was incredible- deep flavor profile with explosions of flavor. For the final dish I tried the Jhol momo with chicken which was like a seasame soup. The mango lassi was incredible. Everything was $60 and fed 2 hungry people 2 times. Go support this local business and leave with your belly full, ready to conquer the day!

I’ve been in search of good momo for a few months now. I’m not native to Chicago — I’m from Metro Detroit — so I figured this city might be the place to find some. Luckily, I came across Momo Factory online and saw great reviews, especially for their chili chicken momo.

One of my friends ordered the fried veggie momo, another got the choila momo, and I went for the chili chicken momo (extra spicy). The fried momo came with two flavorful sauces, while both the choila and chili chicken momo were cooked in their own rich, tasty sauces. The choila momo was packed with flavor without being overly spicy — really well balanced and enjoyable. My chili chicken momo was exactly what I hoped for: actually spicy and full of flavor. It really hit the spot, especially since it’s hard to find places that take “extra spicy” seriously.

Service was quick and simple — you order at the counter, and that works just fine. The atmosphere is straightforward and casual, nothing fancy, but the food is the standout here.

Overall, I’d definitely recommend Momo Factory to anyone looking for authentic, flavorful Nepalese momo, especially if you like a good spicy kick.

I went to the other location up in Lakeview several years ago and remembered how much I enjoyed Momo Factory so I was thrilled to see another one in the River North area. The inside of the restaurant was well-lit and clean with numerous tables. My friend and I decided to order takeout and got the following:
Chicken Momo (I forgot which one I got but I believe it was the steamed or Jhol)
Veggie Momo (fried with curry sauce on top)
Chana Masala ( I’m not certain if this was the dish my friend and I got but it was a chickpea/vegetarian dish)

Honestly, everything we ordered was fantastic- even the fried food items maintained that satisfying crunch texture despite it being covered in the curry sauce (this is something many restaurants struggle to do with takeout but not Momo Factory!) I also loved how there’s so many different types of Momo (steamed, fried, chiola, mandheko, jhol, manchurian, etc)
Every bite was just flavortown and I cannot reccommend this spot enough. Momo Factory will forever be one of my favorite spots to visit in Chicago and I’m already looking forward to coming back and visiting when I’m in town next.

I got the paneer steamed momo. It was not bad, but it was 17$ and you can see the portion was pretty small. For that much, I had been hoping for a meal that would fill me up, not essentially a snack.

They served it with an orange sauce that was creamy and reminded me a bit of butter chicken curry, which was yummy.
Overall, I probably wouldn’t come here again because the value for the food that you get isn’t that great.

Really good option for a hearty meal! I got the samosa and butter curry masala momos with paneer. The samosa was so filling and the momos were also very good with a generous portion. It’s a little pricey but I’d say it’s worth it!

Grabbed takeout last night, perfect for the weather, the chili noodles were generous portions & were delicious. Really enjoyed the Jhol momos (vegetarian), hoping to try the another variation on an evening where we dine in.

I had an amazing experience at Momo Factory in Chicago! The food was absolutely delicious — the jhol momo was flavorful and perfectly spiced, and the garlic chicken chowmein was packed with taste and cooked to perfection. The service was excellent from the moment we walked in. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the whole dining experience even better. If you’re craving authentic and tasty Nepali food with a great atmosphere, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

Got here for lunch on a rainy afternoon. It’s a small hole in the wall spot. Ordered several momos (Steamed, Jhol, Sandekho, Butter toasted) and noodles (Garlic Chili Chow Mein). Had them give us the very spicy sauce in addition to the regular mild sauces. Overall I think everything was ok – not bad at all, but not particularly great either. In fact, I think the Chow Mein noodles were the best, the momos were just average. The hot sauce was great!!!

These were the best momos I’ve ever had! The staff was welcoming and the food came out quick and piping hot. We ordered veggie chilly and chicken jhol momos, and the veggie garlic chili chow mein. It was all delicious.

Previous reviews said they didn’t have cutlery/plates for dine-in, but they must have changed this, because we had a nice setting as you can see in the photo.
