Found this hole in the wall place by accident. Looking for some fast food, went the wrong way. Went to turn around, there it was. Not much signage, tin outside and an open sign. Go inside, friendly place with great BBQ. My kind of place. Would go back.

3rd trip here and they forgot part of my order again. In this case, 2 out of 3 ain’t good. My sandwich was room temperature at best. My wife’s burnt ends plate had the meat juice in her potatoe salad and the roll was thrown on top and partially buried in the potatoe salad as well. And they had the gall to ask for a tip at the register for a to go order. Word of advice: if you get a to go order, dump it out on the counter and check everything before you leave and have to go back or endure missing/cold food.

Food is good. Not many stand alone bbq joints in the area so this wound have to be the best the area has to offer IMO. I wish they served fries. I guess they are running a streamlined operation where they dont want to fry a lot of foods. Dont be scared of the spicy bbq sauce, it’s not terrible hot or super spicy.

Not sure why this place has such a high rating…people working were nice but if we’re talking about the food. It was all terribly dry , chopped beef dry, pulled chicken dry, and smoked turkey was literally lunch meat….theres at least 15 places in Central Arkansas that out this place to shame…..maybe it was just a bad day but my experience was not very good

My husband and I were traveling back to Missouri and decided to try “The Wood Shed” because of the high rating. This place did not disappoint! Great food, pleasant staff, reasonable pricing and received our food quickly. If we’re ever back this way, we will stop again!

This is some delicious smokey smokey BBQ. I had a “jumbo” Chicken Sandwich, added some coleslaw on it. Yum. Some of the smokiest barbecue meat I ever had. Kansas City Joe’s was probably the next smokiest. Delicious aftertaste. I want more. Keep it coming. Thanks for doing it right for us BBQ aficionados, just passing through town, getting lucky . If you’re by town, take the 5-minute detour. Also the customer service was great, and the bathrooms and everything else are super clean. Unassuming building on the side of the road..with character. Kinda looks like it could be a gun and ammo shop. Love it. I’ll be back! Darn good BBQ.

Awesome bbq sandwich. Chopped white meat. Choice of two sauces. I used both, edge wise as I ate the sandwich. Table service was great. I would go out of my way to eat here. Meaning I will be back.

Not sure what the good ratings are about. Food was served barely above room temperature. Burnt ends were mushy, lacking flavor, no bite to the crust. Ribs were not tender [fall off the bone], also lacked smoke flavor. Beans were ok, but would have been better hotter. And it wasn’t cheap. $30 with no alcohol, or drink. Surprised there was no beer served. Finally, servers could have cared less that I was there. Try Beverly’s Soul Food in Gould, or HOOTS BBQ down the highway about one hour in McGehee.

Burnt ends were tough – two were non-edible. Very limited sides and chips are store bought. Queso was ok, but room temperature. Walked away hungry.

We’ve ordered several times and each time the quality has been worse than the time before. We keep trying, hoping it was “just a fluke ” and this time will be different. We won’t try again after today. I really wanted this trip to be different, but, unfortunately, a dry, cold BBQ sandwich served on a dry bun is a Wood Shed norm and is unacceptable. It would help if they’d at least steam the buns or something! It’s not that difficult or costly to improve on the food temperature!
