Walked into this place to order New England clam chowder watch them as they put the cold clam chowder from a can into a plastic container and microwave the to the point where the lid melted into the soup.

If you want to eat plastic in your food from a microwave then this is your place but if you care about your well-being and you want a good place to eat without the chemicals of plastic in your food then stay away from this place.

When I showed this to the lady at the register she brushed it off telling me that I was being a little too assertive when I asked for my money back.
She was very rude and told me to step outside because she didn’t want other customers to hear about what they do with their cooking techniques and my distaste for their microwave food preparation.

Seafood should not be served from a microwave.
Especially at a restaurant.

Came here for dinner and left satisfied! The food which is always the number one concern was excellent! Service was good but they were busy so I understand. Owner was super pleasant and had a very family friendly atmosphere with the staff. Overall, a very nice experience.

My daughter and I love a good seafood boil and PJ’s didn’t disappoint! Sometimes boils can lack flavor but not this place. Every bite was packed with flavor. Highly recommend. We even got to meet the owners and they are the nicest people. Will be back for sure. Best seafood boil at the jersey shore.

With only a short walk from the hotel we were staying at, P.J. Buckets was the cutest, coolest and cleanest seafood place we have been to. We walked in and the owner greeted us right away, told us we had the ability to sit anywhere. He was extremely informative about all the options and even made some delicious suggestions like the mac n’ cheese. BTW our 10-month-old daughter loved!

From there we ordered and the cornbread these boils came with were moist and flavorful. Unlike any kind of cornbread there is out there. We ordered the NJ Boil and the MD Boil (one in olive oil and butter, the other old bay). You could tell the food was fresh from the smell and the time it came out it was steaming hot. Throughout the dinner, the owner even took the time to tie our bibs on and show us how to eat crawl fish.

We felt terrible for taking so long, as they close at 8 p.m. but were still eating at 8:15 p.m. He was completely understanding as we explained we didn’t arrive to dinner until 7 p.m. because our daughter just woke up from a nap. He kept telling us take our time, don’t feel rushed and even provided us with a free chocolate cake.

Not only was the service wonderful, but the food was out of this world. Everything was so flavorful, affordable and fresh. Raving about this place and can’t recommend it enough. We’ll definitely be coming back!

This place is a MUST every time we visit the shore (and that’s very often!). The food is always fresh; our favorites include the New Jersey boil, Maryland boil, and crab rangoons. And above all, the staff is truly so friendly and treats you like family. All around, our visits to PJ Buckets are ALWAYS a five star experience! Thank you, PJ and staff!!

Restaurant is a couple blocks from the boardwalk. Its a small restaurant with outdoor seating. I think they were understaffed when we went there. There are various options of seafood boil you can choose from. Me and my two kids ordered separate boils. It was okay. I think some were frozen seafood. The potatoes weren’t cooked but others were okay. My wife ordered pasta and she didn’t like it. Overall okay.

The food was absolutely amazing we both got the Maryland style with snow crabs. I had the regular one and my girlfriend had the one with veggies. She didn’t want the clams or mussels so they gave her more scallops and shrimp. I paid only 34.99 each and honestly was shocked on how much food actually came in the meal! It came with corn bread but it wasn’t the best to be honest came cold and kinda felt like maybe at least could have been warmed up. It was definitely a 5 star kinda vibe. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more of their delicious dishes!

We went to PJ Bucket during Labor Day weekend. They were super busy. The owner made his way to every table. He was a very sweet and personable older man. I had a lobster roll and side salad. Both were amazing. My husband got shrimp bisque and mac and cheese. Our girls got seafood boils. One of them got Louisiana and the other NJ. The sea food was fresh, cooked well and the sauces with the boil were amazing. They had so much food we had to help eat some of it. We will definitely be stopping in on our next visit to OC NJ.

Chef Ramsey would be mortified

We wanted seafood while vacationing in Ac. We eat so much seafood many think we are pescatarians. In other words we know a thing or two about seafood.

Where do I start.

The seafood-
Not fresh. When you buy seafood you want it fresh. This was not fresh. That In itself is a tragedy. The scallops were hard and overcooked. Gordon Ramsey would have fired every chef. The blue crab was like mash potatoes. Supermarket snow crab would have been better by a long shot. The shrimp were small, LOW QUALITY and we were given 12 between four meals…….UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!

Seasoning-
The Louisiana rub burned our top lips for FOUR hours straight. The smell lingered for hours.
The Maryland had no distinguishing flavors besides “butter and water”. Not good.
The onions did not add to the taste and all those potatoes were annoying.

We hated our food. We paid $218. Should have gone to acme. Don’t make the mistake we did.
