We visited The Allard Bakery and Bistro in Hudson during lunch hours and left with mixed impressions, but also a strong desire to return for dinner. The atmosphere is elegant yet welcoming, with a modern meets classic charm that sets the tone for a thoughtful dining experience.

I had my eye on the shrimp gnocchi, which several reviewers rave about, but unfortunately it was unavailable that day. We started with side Caesars which was fresh and crisp, though fairly standard. I ordered the Jadore Chicken Garden Salad and asked if I could substitute grilled chicken for crispy, but was told no. Oddly, when the salad arrived, it had grilled chicken after all. It was good, just not particularly memorable.

My husband had the steak and eggs, which he said were cooked perfectly. Again, solid execution, but nothing that stood out. That said, the overall quality of the main courses was very good. Looking over the dinner menu, we are eager to come back in the evening.

The real magic happened at dessert. We overheard a staff member mention that one of the women behind the counter makes many of the desserts herself, and she may be from Italy. Our server couldn’t stop praising her crème brûlée and key lime tart, so we had to try both. The crème brûlée was smooth and flavorful, though a bit softer than I prefer. But the key lime tart? Absolutely phenomenal.

My husband, a Tampa native and self-proclaimed key lime aficionado, broke his keto diet for it—and declared it one of the best he’s ever had. I don’t usually like key lime, but even I was impressed. Tangy, creamy, and perfectly balanced—it’s a must-try if you’re anywhere near Hudson.

Service was friendly, and while there were a few small hiccups, the warmth and pride the staff take in their food really shines through. We’ll definitely be back to explore more of the menu, and to get another slice of that unforgettable tart.

My love and I each enjoyed salads at The Allard Bakery and Bistro. The salads were delicious, but the portions were small for the price.

Service was good, but it took quite a bit of time to receive our salads. There weren’t very many people in the restaurant at the time.

When it comes to atmosphere it was cold inside. We sat next to a thermostat that was reading 65° when we came in. I think we helped bump it up to 66. I noticed that the customers were all wearing their coats.

Absolutely the best food we have had at a restaurant in a long time! The Allard Bistro and Bakery exceeded our expectations from start to finish. The bread was fresh and delicious, every dish was perfectly prepared, and the dessert was the perfect ending to an amazing meal. You can truly taste the quality and care in every bite. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an outstanding dining experience! Our waiter Jeremiah was wonderful as well, so kind and helpful with everything.

My wife and I decided to try The Allard as we love local restaurants and enjoy good food. Several of our acquaintances had told us about it and thought it might be right up our alley. After we got sat, it took at least 10 mins for the wait staff to come to us. When our waitress did come, we asked several questions and were told that she was new and could not help us with all our inquiries. We decided to stick with something basic, filets with a side of mashed potatoes and a side of green beans. I order my steak rare and my wife is a medium to medium well. Her steak was perfectly cooked and she enjoyed it. My steak was perfectly cooked as well but it was ice cold throughout. On top of that the potatoes were cold and the green beans come with something sweet on them and it was not enjoyable. I probably would have said something that night but our waitress never came and checked on us.

I am sure there are many fans of The Allard, but my wife and I will not be going back. We eat out 5-6 times a month, always spend good money, drinks, appetizers, meals etc. Our bill for this night was over $250 with tip. Too much to spend for a COLD meal, horrendous service, and apparently very bad management (sticking a server on the floor with little to no training).

Small and cozy interior with excellent service and amazing food. The menu is a la carte so the $55 filet is JUST the steak, no sides. That being said, we order the Brie and Onion Tart as our appetizer, we had side salads, we both ordered the Filet which was delicious and melted in your mouth. I chose fries and my wife had mashed potatoes for sides, both were good and plenty of portion but nothing to shout about. Finally we finished with the Creme Brulee which we both enjoyed immensely. We would go back for special occasions but the meal above was $200 without any alcohol purchases.

We finally got to try out the French restaurant tonight and I am glad we did as a family. We are a younger couple with 2 under 3yrs old and were hesitant on going for a Friday night dinner because going to dinner with two littles is always a crap shoot especially for a nice place like this.
Tonight was amazing as Sam our server was spectacular as well as the other staff. Sam was very attentive and kind to our kids.
We knew what we wanted to order before we got there and he was happy to put in the kids order first which was the chicken Alfredo. It was very good and I highly recommend it even though it was on the kids menu we snagged a few bites before the kids devoured it.
For us we went with the Wagyu Tomahawk steak cooked rare. Came out perfect to our liking and also came with some nice compound butter and a peppercorn sauce. This was the star of the meal. For sides we got the herb mushrooms and the shrimp gnocchi, both were good the mushrooms were a little undercooked but that’s ok.
For dessert we had the profiterole “tower” but it wasn’t much of a tower to what I was used to seeing but the flavor and taste of it was good.

All in all we recommend going here even if you have littles to dine with because we believe that is how we should be raising our kids to be in a social environment no matter how classy or not classy a place is. Everyone should be accepting.
The food and service was outstanding and will be back soon!

Had the most delicious brunch at Allard Bakery and Bistro. The atmosphere of the place was inviting, our server Samuel was very attentive, and personable, and the food was flavorable and filling. I would suggest reservations before you go. But definitely go! Hudson’s hidden gem!

Delicious food, excellent service, but loud atmosphere. Being seated at the tables by the door is unpleasant but really can’t be helped. You need to make a reservation but you still might have to wait up to 25 minutes. If you have a wait, they do offer you a beverage. It’s surprising that a little town like Hudson has a high end menu. Servings are family style so that explains the higher prices. Dishes are plenty when shared.
