Quite possibly the best Mexican restaurant ever, and I’ve sampled plenty in my 70 years. We were travelers following the online reviews and were absolutely wowed. Giant, generous margaritas to start, followed by great chips and salsa, and then the main courses — superb rellenos, burritos, enchiladas, quesadillas, rice and beans. I wish I lived nearby because I already miss this place. Friendly service too. El Ranchero is a true gem.

These guys need more love. The food is amazing, their sauces are all homemade and thus, are top tier, and they’re all incredibly nice in here. I pray the owners and staff have just as good of customers towards them as they are to me and I’m sure the rest of us, as well!!

Stopped by for a lunch after Valentine’s day. The restaurant was still cheerfully decorated. We were greeted and seated within a minute. The restaurant interior is very authentic- every booth, table and chair are hand painted to reflect Oaxaca traditions. Food tasted fresh. Generous portions. Server Maria will take a good care of you!

I usually order two different things at Mexican restaurants: Birria tacos and Chile Rellenos. These aren’t commonly made well at most restaurants. This restaurant was two for two! They were both the best I have ever had. A place in North Carolina that recently closed used ground beef in their Chile Rellenos and it was in top place. Unfortunately it has closed and most places just put cheese on the inside and no meat. This place puts the most tender beef that melts in your mouth all over it!!! And the Birria Tacos were so full of meat and had the best dipping sauce. The rice and beans were also very good. The green sauce definitely adds a nice kick and the red moves it up another notch. I very much enjoyed both but prefer the green from this point on. It has a little better flavor that enhances rather than overpowers. I can’t recommend this place enough. Awesome good. Just look at the pictures! I will be returning here every time I am in the area.

It was our first try at this new restaurant. My husband and I were looking for some hearty soup options. This place had plenty to offer. We ordered Paella Soup (Paella Mexicans) and Seafood Soup (Mariscada Mexicans); both were delicious and hearty. Our server lady was welcoming and attentive. The food arrived quickly.
We were offered complimentary chips and salad while waiting for the food. We will definitely be back to this restaurant.

Fabulous restaurant. We live an hour away and this was totally worth the drive. The Ranch Special was delicious. The fajita burrito was perfect: peppers with a bit of crunch left in them, onions soft and mild. Highly highly recommend.

Me and my family just moved to the area and were looking for a new go-to Mexican spot, this was the closest to our house so we gave it a try. We won’t be looking for another! THIS IS IT. We kept it simple and tried the enchiladas (supremas and rancheras) and also the churi-dip. SOOOO GOOOOD! We really loved the dip though, omg it was delicious. My husband is allergic to shellfish so I couldn’t try the chicken & shrimp dip but I’ll be back on my own to try it 🙂

The food is so fresh, the salsa is house made and phenomenal. They sell it as well to take home.
The Paella Mexicana was piping hot, the seafood was cooked to perfection; the scallops were rich and buttery. The portions are large. We brought home tons of leftovers. I got a Bloody Mary and it was one of the best I’ve had anywhere. One of the best Mexican spots I’ve been to.
