Our server, Haley, was amazing—friendly, genuine, and spent time chatting with us. It felt refreshing and personal.
Food:
Steamer clams – fresh and delicious.
Black Garlic Beef Skewers with mac and cheese (not GF) – my BF loved it.
Aleppo Pepper Chicken Skewers with fried rice – rice was a little al dente, but gingery and tasty.
Caesar salad – HUGE, definitely more than just a side!
We left stuffed, but I came back the next day for the flourless GF chocolate cake with whipped cream for my birthday. It may have been missing the caramel sauce, but it was still rich, chocolatey, and satisfying.
Highly recommend for anyone who loves flavorful food and especially if you’re gluten-free—it’s such a treat to have so many safe options!
I ordered the Gouda mac and cheese with steak and it was incredible. The mac and cheese was rich, creamy, and full of that smoky Gouda flavor, and the steak on top was cooked perfectly and super tender. It’s one of those dishes you keep thinking about after you leave.
One thing that really stood out is how much the quality has improved with the new staff. The service was on point and the food came out hot, fresh, and clearly made with care. It’s great to see the place stepping things up.
Portions were generous and the whole experience was really enjoyable. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to, and if you go, the Gouda mac and cheese with steak is a must-try!
I order a cup of clam chowder and salmon fish and chips. Son orders Mac n cheese with chicken breast.
Clam chowder comes out slightly above the 40 degree room temp. She walks by and I send it back after she offers to warm it up. What, with a microwave? Why isn’t this kept warm during lunch service? I break open the fish and chips to find out it’s the rockfish not salmon. At this point I’m hangry, cold, and upset. She didn’t come by to ask how everything was. So I asked for the bill and left not touching either. Son liked his Mac n cheese so that’s something I guess.
The food here was good, atmosphere ok, the connection to the arcade directly next door (literal doorway between the two) has obvious appeal, and the options available from the food trucks/trailers are both diverse and delicious.
I will say however while we were here, I observed the wait staff busting their butts to try and keep up . . . while some of the other staff literally stood by and for the most part ignored their overly busy coworkers because they were too enthralled with the football games that were on the overhead big screens. At one point I stated to our waitress that we felt she was doing a fantastic job and that it must be nice to stand around, arms folded, and watch football while others scurry around (at times even around you) to make up for your lack of work ethics and motivation. Apparently it’s a regular occurrence here, which is sad because it honestly ruined the experience for us. If not for that, this place would deserve a much higher rating and return visits. We will likely try it again to see if the pattern is repeated.
Cheers
The sushi was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Everything we tried from the kitchen was delicious—clearly made with care and packed with flavor. This spot is a gem and will definitely be on our itinerary for our next trip back!
