Went here a couple years ago when my husband and I were in town and we had a great time, enjoyed delicious wine and good company, however, this time while we were in town and tried to return, we walked in the door to be greeted with a very rude “how can I help you” from a man sitting in the corner of the room on his computer, to which we responded we would like to have some wine by the glass (which is advertised on the window of their establishment might I add) and told that it was a private club…. Meanwhile there was not a single person in the establishment besides the man working there… didn’t make a whole lot of sense for being a town that gets quite a lot of people visiting from elsewhere. Also, you might get more members to your “private club” if you weren’t so snotty… glad we didn’t waste money here.

Lights were on, door was open so we walked in hoping to have a glass of wine after returning from dinner in town. Were very rudely asked if we could be helped, and were then told that it is a private bar. If it is a private place maybe indicate that before people can walk in? As a member of multiple private clubs, I have never seen anyone treated like that. Anyway, glad it was private because I don’t like to spend my money with business owners that rude.

Todd and I stumbled upon this truly incredible experience. Mike and Denny were superb “hosts”. The wine samplings were fabulous and Mike was incredibly knowledgeable of the wines he served. In addition, we had the most amazing oysters, fresh from Puget Sound. Overall, a wonderful evening. I highly recommend.

This is a place that caters to high class people only. I wouldn’t recommend this for a girls night, anyone on a budget, or a new wine drinker. This is a place for elite, wine connoisseurs to discuss business, travel, food, and look down on those who are from a lower class or less educated in wine/fine dining.
Denny was more down to earth, relatable, talented, & the best part of our experience. Unfortunately, I was also double charged for this already over priced experience and have been fighting with the credit card company to reverse one. Mike had initially promised to reverse the initial charge over the phone, but never did. I also wasn’t able to eat half the food we were charged for due to a nut allergy I had let them know about ahead of time. The only substitution available was potato chips, which is fine, but for the cost – not ideal. Overall, I was charged over $500 for food I couldn’t eat and an uncomfortable wine tasting at best. Do not recommend unless you are rich and enjoy the tense atmosphere.

Amazing find, small quaint coffee shop with great, friendly service! We were in steamboat 2 nights and both mornings we had to come back. The breakfast burrito is incredible and the coffee is fresh and flavorful! Definitely recommend a visit for anyone in town.

A true hidden gem in Steamboat. Private, educational wine tasting in a super cozy lounge at the base of the mountain. Andre was incredibly informative and fun to talk to. We can’t wait to come back in the winter time.

Whether you’re looking for the perfect girls night out with a 1.5hr educational wine tasting that comes with 4 tastings and a mini charcuterie board (only $60 per person might I add!) or just a place to relax after a long day of skiing, The Collective will not disappoint. Amazing wine tasting experience with some of the best sommeliers in the area!
