Me and my lady celebrated our anniversary at The Jaipur last night, and wow — it completely blew me away. I’ve had Indian food before, but this place easily has the best Indian cuisine in Omaha.
We came in on a quiet Wednesday night, which made for a calm, intimate atmosphere. From the moment we walked in, the staff’s professionalism and warmth stood out. Having worked in the service industry for over 8 years as a bartender/server, I have to say — this was some of the best service I’ve ever experienced. Every need was met without us even asking… it was like they could read my mind.
Starters:
We began with momo dumplings — both steamed and fried — and honestly, I couldn’t decide which I liked better. The texture and flavors were spot on. I also tried the Mulligatawny lentil soup for the first time, and it had such a comforting, homemade flavor that I’d definitely order it again. (Especially on a sick day! It’s good souuup!)
Entrees & Drinks:
I ordered an IPA (they brew their own beer — big plus!), and also had to get a red blended wine to go along with this rich food, along with papadum and garlic naan that was packed with flavor thanks to the minced garlic and seasoning in the naan bread.
My lady had the Lamb Bhuna, I went for the Chicken Tikka Makhani (Butter Chicken), and we shared the Mixed Tandoori Grill. Every bite was incredible — the butter chicken was bursting with flavor, and the Lamb Bhuna completely blew us away with its creamy, rich taste. The Tandoori Grill was a standout too, especially paired with the tomato sesame chutney.
Dessert:
Even though we were stuffed, we had to try dessert and the staff graciously boxed our many items to go (dinner again the next day!) — and the owner graciously treated us to their Mango Cheesecake. That natural mango purée on top was heavenly. It was one of the few times I’ve had a cold cheesecake, and I swear it was so good that we got our appetites back… I may have even licked the plate.
By the end of the night, I genuinely felt like I’d been transported to India — dining like royalty, thanks to an incredible team that clearly loves what they do.
The Jaipur deserves to be packed every night.
Thank you to everyone who made our night so special — we’ll definitely be back!
Due to poor planning on out part they were setting up for an event so moving Tables was rather loud, but staff went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome and enjoyed our time there. Our server was amazing so sweet and knowledgeable on the menu.
I cant wlsay enough good things about this restaurant! We’ll definitely be back!
Even takeout is flawless every time…we order more often than we’d like to admit, and it never disappoints. The Chicken Madras, Kadai Gosht, and Keema Chole are phenomenal and absolute must-orders. Jaipur is a place we’re always excited to return to and one we recommend to everyone.
Normally, I don’t get caught up in the Hallmark holiday hype, but this year, we decided to enjoy a special meal—just a day early. We had some incredible Indian food, and the experience reminded me of what dining out used to be. The service was outstanding—so polite, so thankful. It was a refreshing change to be somewhere that truly appreciated its guests. Thank you, Rakshya for treating us so kindly.
The food? Outstanding. From the rich flavors of the Lamb Vindaloo, to the perfectly cooked rice and the deliciously spiced momos, every bite was a reminder of why I love Indian cuisine. Even the naan was something special.
A great night with even better company.
