This place is great. It reminds me of the old “LeDucs” in the village of Wales, Wisconsin. Lamont Dairy Sweet is situated on Iowa Hiway 187 in the little historic town of Lamont, Iowa. The food is wonderful and get this, THEY MAKE MALTS TO ORDER. How cool is that? You can order a rib sandwich or a steak. Dining is outside or in your car. This is the kind of place that makes aimless cruising fun. Iowa needs more of this, so when I find this kind of place I get excited. This a cool cheap dinner with the girlfriend, wife or both if you are daring. If I could have given it 10 stars, I would.

LAMONT DAIRY SWEET SEEMS TO BE BETTER THAN BEFORE!!
My wife and I visited Lamont Dairy Sweet today and it was wonderful. When the question, “Is this Heaven (?)” was asked, the answer should be, YES. HEAVEN IS LAMONT DAIRY SWEET!! We had Steak Sandwiches that were out of this world. Great people, totally wonderful food. Thank you LAMONT DAIRY SWEET.

The food was alright the shakes/blizzards were good but the thing that brought my experience down was their attitude. I expected a nice welcoming smile but instead got not so nice folks. They made us not feel welcome and one lady making the burgers gave a not so nice face. Food was good but they were not.

This is the most mediocre ice cream with the WORST management I’ve ever come across! The girl at the window was sweet but the manager kept barking orders at her AND us patrons. She was condescending, overly aggressive, and made us never want to come there again. Even if the food and ice cream had been good (which it wasn’t) we would not recommend this place to any family or friends in the area.
