As of October 2024 Harwigs is open Wednesday – Saturday evenings. Swing by for Happy Hour from 5pm to 6:30. Dinner will be served from 5pm to 10pm. We had a pleasure having a great dinner at Harwings. We had a 8-year old and they did have some kids menu that fit her well. Plus some of the appetizers were great for her as well. The food was excellent. French onion soup, crispy duck and oxtail were the highlights of our dinner and plus a good bottle of bordeaux!
We highly recommend this place that has been family owned since 1979! We look forward to visiting again when we are in Steamboat.

We love Harwigs, from the amazing service team, culinary quality and overall hospitality we receive every time we dine there, it’s definitely one of my go-to restaurants for anytime I’m up in Steamboat. We have also successfully hosted 6x group parties at the restaurant for between 35-45 guests, and the opportunity to own both the bar and dining room creates a magical setting for guests visiting Steamboat.

Harwigs is our favorite Steamboat restaurant. Their food is terrific, especially the duck, which is perfectly done and beautifully presented. Martinis are excellent as well as generous (you get the entire shaker, not just what fits in the glass). Clientele is made up of both locals and visitors (like us). Our only complaint is that our favorite chicken liver mousse is no longer on the menu!

My friends and I rented out the wine cellar for New Year’s Eve this year and had the most amazing time. The staff was beyond exceptional, friendly, attentive, precise. The food was cooked so perfectly, beyond all of our dreams and the ambience is always cozy and inviting. Every time I eat at harwigs my experience always exceeds my expectations. We had the most incredible one of a kind experience at Harwigs for a surprise engagement party for my daughter and her fiancé! JJ selected an incredibly creative menu that was both delicious and artistically prepared! The service with Michael (and Chris providing back up) was top notch. Simply exquisite! Please be sure to inquire about the private dining room in the lower level that is an intimate wine cellar perfect for special events! My significant other and I went for their wine dinner. Not only was the food amazing, but so was the atmosphere. We socialized with other couples and had one of the nicest dinners we’ve ever had. The food was VERY tasty and they paired each course with wine perfectly. The attached photo is a crab cake. I don’t have photos of the other dishes, but just take my word for it.. THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. Service was great too! We will definitely be coming back!

JJ and the Harwig’s team did an amazing job catering for our wedding in Steamboat! From passed apps and a plated dinner, JJ’s creativity and commitment to seasonality are unmatched. While we might be biased that it was the best wedding food we’ve ever had, our guests continue to say the same to this day. Highly recommend!

I love that Steamboat has really weird little spots like this. It’s weird to me because the entire restaurant is very old school—from the patrons to the menu which is not typical in resort towns. It’s really interesting to see.
I’d highly recommend this place to anyone visiting. It’s a French restaurant that serves a very hearty tasting menu with a really awesome staff. The wait between each courses can be long but I thought it’s worth it. The monk fish was delish, and the first three courses were some of the healthiest courses I’ve had in a long while.
