We have a fabulous home style cafe just minutes from our house. Our first experience was an order to go. The steak was cooked to perfection the sweet potatoe fries hot with just the right amount of seasoning. The Cod had just the right amount of breading and was also hot. Which is unusual for take out! Today they had poutine as their special we split it and had a mushroom Swiss burger. I love horseradish sauce and they had it. Impressive! The French fries right amount of seasoning and crispy. Score!! Now we were full but bread pudding get out of here! Hot with a marvelous sauce and whipped cream! Heaven in Baltic! Cannot wait to try more items on the menu. They are in the process of putting together a new menu. Season change menu change awesome!

Came here with my 4 year old intending to celebrate his last swimming lessons with lunch + ice cream. The reviews were great and one review mentioned ice cream + cookies. I tried to confirm by looking at a menu online, but none was posted.

Got here at noon on a Friday, two waitresses for four tables of people, but still had to wait 10 minutes for a menu, another 10 minutes for the waitress to return and take our order, only to be informed they don’t have ice cream. (What kind of cafe doesn’t have ice cream? Especially when apple pie and bread pudding are on the menu!) So my son, disappointed, decided to try bread pudding. They were out of that. Choice #3: apple pie. They were out of that too. They partially redeemed themselves with a huge and delicious PB cookie fresh from the oven, but still: easy to post a menu online + keep a tub of ice cream in a freezer + manage not to run out of 2/3 of your desserts on a Friday noon.

Was tempted to leave, and we should have. Instead, we ordered mac and cheese for him, reuben for me with a side of broccoli. Waited another 15 minutes. The mac and cheese was undercooked penne noodles with a dollop of velveeta not even mixed in/fully melted. I needed to add salt. The reuben was fine, but the broccoli came sitting in a puddle of water, completely unsalted, unbuttered. It smelled, looked, and tasted like it had been thawed from frozen.

Beyond the tardiness, the service was lackluster. Everything gave the impression that they were phoning it in. Disappointing.

Been here several times. The owners cook, wait, and bartend. Very personal staff, and you don’t have to worry about how the food comes out. Since the owners work there. They take pride in delivering a consistent and pleasurable experience. Think classic 50s diner charm, but more of and 90s early 2000s Cafe feel. Being 30 years old this is my version of nostalgic dining. If you go do yourself a favor and don’t skip dessert.

We loved this little cafe! If you’re coming through Baltic and you’re hungry this is the place to stop. Ask the waitress about the origin of the Cafes name. It’s very interesting! After a hardy meal if you have room try their bread pudding with caramel sauce. Oh my, it’s good!!

Great place for lunch in the middle of nowhere. Only open Thursday Fridays and Saturday. But if you are in the area and love small town bar food this place is spot on. Service was awesome. Just expect a lot of fried food!
