10 out of 10! Delicious! Photo 1 is curry, coconut tofu with beans rice & cabbage salad, photo 2 jerk pork with beans rice & cabbage salad, photo 3 is jerk chicken tenders & Mac & cheese. Not pictured so good was the sparkling grapefruit juice Ting & tropical rhythms guava carrot juice. M & J Jamaican kitch’n is a Brand new brick & mortar restaurant at 4694 cottage grove rd Madison. East side. So freaking delicious and fresh. The owner’s husband painted & decorated the inside so beautifully it’s brilliantly painted in a Jamaican color scheme with beautiful artwork everywhere. It’s hard to believe you are still in Madison when you walk in. The drink selection is impressive because the juices and sodas are from Jamaica. The couple that owns it are so friendly. It’s my new favorite place to eat. It does have a smaller menu but they said they are going to expand it. I think it’s just a great place

I’ve had food from M&J’s food cart over the years, and was so excited for them to finally have a restaurant so that I could have their food more often! Wife and I placed a togo order tonight from them. We got the Ox Tail, plantains, jerk chicken wings, and chicken curry. All of it was phenomenal (as expected)! The side sauce they give out with their food has a great flavor and spice to it. The heat really has some hang time on your tongue lol, it’s not for the weak. I cannot recommend this place enough. We will be back again!

I stopped in this weekend to see what it was all about. After consulting with the woman behind the counter, I settled on the oxtails. They were fantastic! The sauce was great! The portion was huge (with the rice & beans plus salad it all easily weighed 2 pounds)! The order included jerk sauce on the side. I’m glad it was on the side, because it was waaaaay too spicy for this white boy. I’m looking forward to going back and tasting through the menu!
