I’ve gone to all of the sushi restaurants in Pinole and I even though this one is a little further away in Hercules, it is by far the best. The fish is so fresh, the rolls are delicious and the prices are reasonable. This is my go to place for sushi.

Fresh sushi !! Excellent customer service. Price it’s okay. Only bad thing is they’re taking like 50 min your order to be ready. Make sure you call to make your order and when you get there, your order is going to be ready.

A wonderful small, warm, intimate, comfortable and welcoming place. Japanese family own and operated. The food is very fresh. The rice of the sushi is Japanese, warm and tasty. The rolls are of as high quality as more fancy places. Calm music, gentle and attentive service. The house sake is excellent. Very fair prices. I like to go every week since I discovered it in November.

We ordered our food to go. We arrived before the pickup time and saw food sitting on a counter in to go boxes. We paid as soon as we arrived. Our food was given to us over 10 minutes later. It was the bags that were sitting on the counter when we arrived. Many parties arrived after us and were seated promptly. Orders were taken while our food was sitting on the counter getting cold. When we opened up the containers less than 5 minutes later, none of the hot dishes were hot. We did not enjoy this dinner.

I come twice a month. This place is my go to for Japanese comfort food. I love the gyudon just the way they prepped it. Saucy, sweet and savory just like I remember from childhood in Asia. Sushi and sashimi are fresh (enough). Bento is reasonably priced. Atmosphere is good. Not pretentious like some of the Japanese restaurants in this area. They actually play Japanese tunes.

Listen, the food here is reliably delicious and the carryout quality is consistently good. The biggest issue is that the orders take FOREVER to put together. Maybe it’s a pandemic thing, I don’t know, but as long as you order your pick up well in advance you’ll be good to go.
