You come into any of Wolfgang Pucks restaurants expecting the best and the cuisine at Cut does not disappoint! It’s nestled off of 31st street in Georgetown looking over the C&O Canal. I came for brunch and enjoyed the vast Neighborhood Georgetown Brunch which offers a pastry basket that includes a lovely blueberry muffin, plain & chocolate croissant, sweet corn madeleines, accompanied by an array of jams and butter. The yogurt was served first and came with berries and a granola nut mix. The endive Caesar was crisp and fresh with shaved Parmesan cheese accompanied by a dressing that gave us anchovy lovers that classic taste. They also give you a fruit bowl with melon, cantaloupe and more berries. For the main breakfast entree. I went with the Benedict with a confit beef bacon on top of a home made biscuit covered with a hollandaise.

My husband and I did not have a good experience at this restaurant. We visited this restaurant for Valentine’s Day. Our reservation was at 530pm but because of the completely unorganized and chaotic valet service, my husband wasn’t able to sit down to dine until almost 630pm. He literally sat in the street waiting for valet service for close to 45 minutes. Additionally, the menu consisted of a 5 course dinner meal at $260 per person (something that was not mentioned on the reservations page). The 5 courses were small plates (smaller than tapas) that tasted good, but for that amount of money you would expect to leave the restaurant satiated at a minimum. Not only that, the food came out lukewarm warm to room temperature like it had been sitting there for 15-20 minutes. When I’m eating wagyu steak I expect it to be hot. Last but not least, there was a manager that was coming around to everyone’s table greeting them. This manager stopped at every table in our vicinity except ours. She looked right at us and walked in the opposite direction like we weren’t worthy of her greeting us. We spent close to $1000 at this restaurant for a very subpar experience. We’ve been to close to every steakhouse in the area and this was by far the worst especially for the amount of money we spent. I wouldn’t visit this restaurant again.

Only reason I put 4/5 for food is because my steak was under cooked but everything else was amazing…my partner and I enjoyed everything…the Bread was Amazing!! Burratta was really refreshing. My partner had grilled chicken which was sooo flavourful,we will try to recreat that dish at home. Cocktails were good aswel and the wine! I forgot our servers name but such a knowledgeable Gentlemen, very Professional and a nice human being, made our experience really awesome. I know he had lots of experience in the industry and has worked at top places,I wish I remembered his name to mention it. Thanks to everyone. TIRAMISU AND FUILLE…WOW WOW WOW!!!!

Beautiful anniversary dinner here last night. The food and service was excellent start to finish. I would do it all again in a heartbeat. We started with a drink on the rooftop – always fun in a city. Then dinner – there are several do not miss items – black garlic faccia, butter lettuce salad, sweet corn tortellini, the steak, the Wagyu Bolognese, and the desserts. In short all of it.

Absolutely outstanding dining experience at CUT by Wolfgang Puck in Georgetown. This place did not disappoint! The selection of steaks is top-tier — I highly recommend the filet mignon or New York Steak which were cooked to perfection.
For appetizers the top choices were the beet salad and crab cake.
Our favorite side dishes were the creamed spinach, patatas bravas, and the corn— all bursting with flavor and great for sharing. Their wine list is impressive and perfectly complements the menu.
The bar area is sleek and stylish — ideal for a date night or even solo dining. There’s also plenty of space to accommodate medium-sized groups comfortably, which is a huge plus.
Service was warm, professional, and attentive throughout the evening. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a top-notch steakhouse experience in D.C.!

Located within the Rosewood hotel in the Georgetown section of Washington DC, this restaurant is beautiful inside. Actually, the decor is amazing! I had sushi tonight, and it was fantastic as well. Cut is definitely a great special occasion or date night establishment to visit. While expensive, I was super impressed with it here all the way around.

Came here for restuarant week and enjoyed the American Wagyu Ultra Bavette! It was tender and delcious and was highly recommended by our server Juan. Large wine selection and short menu for desserts (which I personally enjoy) Even though I wasn’t entirely sold on my appetiter (tuna) The atmosphere is elegant, with a hint of intimacy. I would highly recommend reservations 🙂

Visited for afternoon tea. Absolutely delicious desserts—kudos to the pastry chef. The sandwiches were high quality and well done. Great scones as well. The entire service team was attentive and friendly. Would recommend if you’re looking for an authentic tea experience with top notch food.

CUT by Wolfgang Puck – A Name with Prestige, but a Service Letdown
⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3/5)
We chose CUT by Wolfgang Puck for our July 4th dinner — a special evening before heading out to catch the fireworks in D.C. The restaurant, located inside the Rosewood Hotel in the heart of Georgetown, carries a big reputation, and we were genuinely excited to dine there.
First impressions were promising — we were greeted by the doorman and welcomed by the host. The space has a classic, elegant look — not overly modern, but stylish and well put together. However, once seated, things started to go sideways.
We were placed at a small square table for two by the window. Considering how much food and drinks we were planning to order, we felt the space was tight. I noticed several larger tables and booths open, so we kindly asked to be moved. The host told us it would be a busy night, but at the time (around 5:45 PM), there were maybe 4-5 tables occupied in the entire restaurant. She offered another table — still small. Finally, after asking our server, we were moved to a more comfortable spot. But even by the time we left around 7:15 PM, many of those larger tables and booths remained empty. That part left a bad taste before dinner even began.
Now, on to the good stuff: the food was excellent.
• Oysters were fresh and briny.
• The tuna sashimi was a big surprise — beautifully prepared, no fishy smell, and almost a meaty, umami flavor like dry-aged beef.
• We ordered the Australian Wagyu ribeye and lobster pasta — both cooked perfectly. The steak was juicy and tender, and the pasta had that fresh, handmade texture with a tomato sauce that was sweet, tangy, and full of flavor.
• We paired it with a bottle of Textbook Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa — smooth, well-balanced, and a great match for the meal.
The food truly lived up to the name.
Unfortunately, the service didn’t.
Despite the restaurant being less than a third full, there seemed to be only two servers working the entire floor. Service was slow and disorganized. It took too long when we asked for the dessert menus, and by the time someone returned to take our order, we had to skip it so we wouldn’t miss the fireworks. Even getting the check was a chore — I eventually had to get up and track someone down just to pay.
We came here expecting a polished fine dining experience — and while the food delivered, the lack of attention, delayed service, and inflexibility from the host were major disappointments.
If this had been a casual place, I might’ve brushed it off. But at a restaurant of this caliber, service should be seamless, not frustrating. I’m giving it three stars out of courtesy for the food and ambiance, but based on service alone, it honestly felt more like a one-star experience.

The food was very disappointing. Extremely overpriced for quality. My ribeye was so hard it felt like I was eating a rubber sole. It was also overcooked for a medium steak. Honestly you are better off going to Morton’s or Joe’s. The prices there are not as ridiculous and there is good consistency. FYI our bill was around $350 for 2 people. No alcohol included either. 2 steaks, coffee, Diet Coke, and 2 salads. Desserts were on the house. Staff was lovely.
