Came here for the bbq chicken, unfortunately it wasn’t that.
Let’s start with the locale. Nice location, plenty of parking and the place looks nicely remodeled and clean.
Service was a little lacking, but maybe because there was a party, they looked a bit overwhelmed. Didn’t take long to take my drink order not my meal order. Drink was served promptly but the rest took a while. I ordered the bbq chicken and brisket plate. I could see other tables were brought beans and chips w salsa while their orders were brought out, unfortunately not mine. My chips/salsas and beans were brought with my food order, unlike other tables.
Food was decent but not BBQ at all, at least not what we expect in Texas.
Beans were very watered down and mostly tasteless. The rice was good but a little mushy. Now for the chicken, it was a bit dry and smothered in what seems a type of Louisiana watery sauce , definitely not bbq. The brisket was tasty but NOT bbq’d it was like a roast meat and not sliced, it was mostly almost chopped scraps. The portions were good for the price but that was offset by the food quality and taste. Btw, no bbq sauces were offered nor available , IN A BBQ place!!!
I was offered tea once and asked if I needed anything another time, so pretty adequate. Now once time to pay I was charged for an extra drink and didn’t notice till my card had been run. They gave me a monetary refund which is what I left as a tip. My overall review is two stars at most , sorry.

I ate lunch here by myself and would eat here again. It wasn’t very busy at the time. On the TVs was a movie, country music and boxing. The service was good and the BBQ food was delicious! I ordered chopped brisket and sausage sandwich. It came with potato salad, charro beans and a small bowl of chips. A good amount of food for the price I paid.
The brisket had a nice smoky flavor to it and the sausage as well had a nice smoky BBQ flavor to it. The restaurant was clean and the bathroom was also very clean.

Terrible service! i went with some friends and we all decided to share the large order of panchos since it is a very big portion. The panchos are very tasty but the service was horrible! The waitress was upset that we only ordered that for our table so she was not very kind to us after that. You usually get beans for each person along with chips and salsa as you walk in, and we did not get either. We saw every other table get some before they even ordered but not us. When we asked if we were getting beans, she said, “not today.” when we then asked for chips and salsa, she said “no.” She then came back with the chips in a small bowl when all other tables got a regular sized basket. We would have tipped her the same (and well) no matter what we ordered as we were all paying separately, so no need to be so rude. We just dont eat a lot and have ordered panchos each separately before to have more than half left over, so we thought it made sense to share an order. This was after I gave them a THIRD chance after getting rotten tasting chicken 2 previous times. The first time, i thought it was just me and didnt complain. The 2nd time, i went with a friend and had her taste it and she said it did taste rotten so i asked for another plate. No apology or anything, just a smug “well what else do you want?” and i let those other experiences go only to get treated badly a 3rd time! We would go there often too but never again after this! Have never been treated so poorly!

The remodel looks fantastic comfortable, and perfect for hanging out. The food was absolutely delicious! The loaded baked potato was packed with flavor and the brisket parrillada was tender, and perfectly seasoned. Everything tasted fresh. Fun country music, TVs for sports, and friendly staff make it a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal. Definitely recommended!

This is one of Brownsville hidden gems. Good food, good portions and reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Good location and plenty of parking. Complimentary chips and salsa and very delicious Ranchero Beans. Very unique chicken seasoning. Must try!

I had been wanting to try this place for a good while, so finally we hopped in the car and took a trip there. First red flag no one was there and the workers looked at us up and down like an old prison movie lol … second red flag they took forever to attend us , third I asked if the chicken was fresh because I smelled no bbq or smoke ( it is a bbq restaurant) she hesitated and made a face . So we ordered and when the food came my food smelled bad it reeked of ketchup and hot sauce those are the hints I got from the food . The meats were swimming in it and some soupy liquid . I had the chicken , fajitas, sausage and brisket plate … the potato salad was hot and swimming in the liquid too . I took a few bites and grossed out ! It was terrible and tasted old , all the meats I had tasted very old and reheated to the max! I left it all payed and walked out as fast as I could! I got sick in a parking lot nearby. Very disappointed I drove all this way! I was hesitant to write this type of review but , they really need to check out what they serve the customers, someone could end up in the hospital with some illness.

Today’s visit was a bit disappointing. The brisket was excellent, but the chicken was dry and overcooked. I visited this establishment before and it was all 5 stars to included the service. Unfortunately the service went down since I had to keep l waiting for the wait staff for refills. I like the way the restaurant is designed very western ranch style.

ABSOLUTELY THE WORST BBQ I HAVE EVER TASTED! Dining area and restroom was FILTHY, brisket was chewy, bland and not smoked. Their is NO wood fire cooked anything here like Texas BBQ should be.
