This was the only restaurant open in Cooke City when we arrived in the afternoon. We were the only ones dining. The service was good and the staff very friendly. The meals were overpriced all things considered. Our iced tea was undrinkable. The food was fairly bland. My fries were undercooked. The place could’ve used a bit of upgrading. That said, we made the most out of it, had some nice conversations and learned some things about the town.

Came in the dead of winter. No customers ahead of us, still took a long time to get our food. Fries were good, burger was undercooked and honestly pretty bad, waiter never offered soda refill. Restaurant was clean and decor was nice as it was super slow and they had time to keep it up. Owner was very friendly and I realized that he is understaffed in the summer which is why the restaurant gets so dirty then, however there’s no reason why our food should have tasted bad when the place was empty and they had time to make it good. Owner said he was a lifelong vegan although most of the items were meat based, which might explain why the burger was cooked badly.

I chose a garden salad off the menu for $14.95. This salad came in a 6 inch bowl that contained brown lettuce with some rotten pieces that weren’t safe to eat and some tomatoes. It was served with ranch dressing that came in a giant squeeze bottle labeled bleu cheese. It was very obvious that the lettuce was inedible, yet the staff didn’t offer to fix it or even deduct the uneaten salad from the bill. The staff seemed perfectly content to serve rotten food and get paid for it, I can only assume because we’re tourists and won’t be repeat business. The others I travelled with got food that was edible, but mediocre, all saying they wouldn’t go back. The pitcher had a hole in it that soaked through loads of napkins multiple times and again was observed by staff and not fixed. We just kept sopping it up. They were not busy and there was always a staff member behind the counter about 6 feet away. Additionally, the cups provided for water smelled like harsh chemicals and made the water taste like cleaning supplies. So, both the food I paid for and water provided weren’t consumable.

We stopped here to eat lunch in a rainy day fall day in Cooke City. French Dips were really good. I would recommend getting tots instead of fries as the fries were fresh cut but a little hard. Other than that it was really good and service was great. The staff was making friends with our 4 year old and even gave him a complimentary dish of ice cream. Great place and I’ll eat there again when I’m in the area.

Don’t waste your time stopping. There are no restrooms with running water. When we discovered that we left without eating. I wonder how dishes are washed? And employees hands as well. I wonder how the state health dept allows that. Unless the health dept is run strictly by the local municipality. I prefer not to get diarrhea and vomiting after I have eaten somewhere. I am not afraid of germs, but if the staff has urine, and or feces after using the restroom, that surely winds up on plates, glasses, and possibly even in the food.

The restaurant is located in an extreme remote area. The city was dressed up like a ghost town in the late October. However, I was happily surprised by the sweet gestures of the owner and the waiter(s). We order tender chicken and some diet coke, as we were craving for some Indian food. The waitress herd that and she took the effort to cook authentic vegetarian Mumbai Pav -Bhaji for us! Probably this was the first time in a very long time that I was having such good India food! Yes, the order time did take a little bit longer. But I guess, we need to be considerate of the age of these two waiter(s) too and be patient may be? I would definitly ask everyone to visit this amazing place.

Do not eat here. I wish we had read reviews before we went. I also wish I would have trusted my instincts the moment I walked in. Disgusting (looked like it has not been cleaned in years) not friendly, and food was basic. Also way overpriced for what you are getting. I never leave bad reviews, but this had to be said.

Waited a while for the food but it was worth it! Our waiter was very nice and we were lucky to find this pearl of a restaurant when everyone else was closed. Visiting from south Texas, we felt welcomed here, thank y’all for that beautiful hospitality!

The service was very slow. The food sounded good on the menu but was not as good as we hoped. The staff were unprofessional. Nothing worth going out of your way for.

We went to this restaurant for lunch around 2 pm on a Saturday in mid October. It seemed like every restaurant in this corner of Yellowstone was closed for the season, so this place got filled with people simply because nothing else was open. The waiter somehow missed a family that sat down before us and they left after waiting too long., never seeing a menu. It took a solid 10 or 15 minutes for us to get a menu.

The Menu was small with only a handful of options, but the options there seemed well put together with ingredients that sounded like they would taste good. With this busy crowd it took 50 minutes after ordering before we got our food.

While waiting for food we sipped on our fountain drinks, and listened to the cook yell “We need more Juicy Lucy!” and “We need more bacon!” after each large order went to the kitchen. We also watched the waiter bring frozen Tater tots through the dinning room to the kitchen.

The food was a little dry, but cooked all the way though. My Juicy Lucy burger had very little cheese stuffed inside, making it not much more than an ordinary cheese burger with jalapenos. The Malibu Chicken tasted good, but was nothing to go out of your way for. The fries were okay.

I’m would hope that under better conditions they would serve food a bit faster, but I would bet that during season when everyone is open, there are better options.
