Social Profile:

The original Auction Restaurant started in 1930 inside George Curtis’s garage. It was operated by the ladies of the Methodist Church until 1940, when Curtis asked Milo and Ruth Miller, who were then catering farm sales, if they would be interested in taking over the operation. Each day, the Millers backed Mr. Curtis’s automobile out of the garage, swept the floor and set up the restaurant equipment and gas stove. In 1950, a new Auction Restaurant was built to seat 50-60 people as the auction and flea market grew in popularity. The restaurant was re-done again in 1981, and has served hungry visitors from all across the country.

The service was excellent. The French fries and coleslaw was really good.the chicken tenders were okay, kind of like frozen chicken. The restaurant was clean and welcoming.

The service was really excellent! Our server was honest and honest is quite helpful. The food portions here are an embarrassment to this place. I would call it a tourist trap thus far . The size of the fish dinner is unacceptable as thin as it is…. Not a return visit possible. Never maDe a review like this.

First hostess was unapproachable! Food was not to bad until we had dessert. Pies are not homemade, horrible canned fruit, crust was uninviting. Easy before you come way way overpriced $5 pet slice. See pictures

I’m not sure what I expected, but it wasn’t this. I was surprised by the Amish server wearing an ankle bracelt. Was told they didn’t wear jewelry. We went there for breakfast and were told breakfast was only served until 11. It was 11:10 so we ordered lunch. The fries were good, but definitely, the store bought frozen fries. My BLT was good, and I liked the bread they used. My husband got a hot ham and cheese and it came on a bun, which he wasn’t expecting, but the ham he said was really good, you can tell it was actually ham and not lunch meat. I had the Cole slaw, which I thought was very good. My hubby opted for the applesauce. He wasn’t able to eat it because he thought it tasted a little too tart. Probably won’t be going back. it just seemed a little too fake to us. We were looking for a little more authentic Amish meal, this is very cafeteria-like.

My husband and I went to the Auction restaurant for lunch after the flea market. My husband got the pork burger which he liked very much. He is now on a pork burger kick. I got the patty melt. Cole slaw was good. Service was good. Convenient location near flea market and Auction.

I used to eat here every morning with my grandparents Windell and Darlene who used to sell Tshirts here for years and years. This place is amazing the food was always delicious. I wish I could remember the other place in town who had a pancake that went over the edge of the plate. I love Ahmish food, and miss coming to this area.

Big mistake the sale barn closed the restaurant and contracted it out. Food isn’t the same atmosphere is not the same either. Store-bought and Frozen patties bland add water eggs .

Shawna Rae’s food is amazing at the auction restaurant. Between the Wednesday antique auction and the flea market on Tuesdays and Wednesdays no one should go home empty-handed, lots of great deals.

Average quality & quantity of food. Chicken & noodles had very good flavor but very little chicken. Mashed potatoes were delicious. We were pleased that they seated us within 30 min of closing. Clean & cheerful environment.
