Hot chicken, coleslaw, and French fries. Keep it simple and do it well. That’s the name of the game here. Adjust your heat to match your needs and go to town on your sandwich. If you’re not feeling like a bun, they also offer a coleslaw salad with hot chopped Chicken on top. The staff is always very friendly and helpful, and they recently added some local Flair to the walls to make the simple and Spartan dining area feel part of the West Springfield and Burke community.

The food was really good but the portions were incredibly small for the price. I’d rather go to Dave’s where it’s a bit more expensive but much bigger portions. For $12 and only two tenders I’d expect them to be a decent size but they were tiny.

Wow, I am beyond disappointed. This place used to be amazing. Yesterday was my first time back in about a year and a half. Well first of all the place smelled like sewage for some strange reason, gross. The prices, if im not mistaken, were the same as they were a year and half ago, so that was fine. Now comes the big disaster, the portions!!!!. Let me tell you for a second I thought I had gotten a mini version or a slider. They were so much smaller than previous times. The flavor didn’t hit the same as it used it. I went with someone else and they too thought they were smaller. I’m so annoyed that a place that was so wonderful has gone to the pits.

I picked up a chicken sandwich and fries for my little one and she loved them…they came in a paper bag to go and had a great presentation; but, the show stopper is their milkshakes…totally worth the 10 minute wait. Best in town!!

Generally speaking, I think Roaming Rooster makes some of the best fried chicken sandwiches in the region. That said, I was not thrilled with this location. The seats were sticky and caked on dirt. The lower walls were all pot marked and nicked up.

I go here for lunch all the time, for their Beltway Box deal. Might be one of the few fast food establishments that isn’t that ‘fast,’ cause they cook-to-order, every time. Oven hot everyday. Always burn my mouth on the first bite. A good problem to have. And the chicken doesn’t taste overly processed, but fresh. Other than that, the staff barely speak English, so hard to communicate sometimes, but they’re friendly enough. Good stuff here.

If half star reviews were a thing then I would give this two and a half, but that’s not the case so I’m going to lean towards the lower amount.
On account of it being a chain, I figured the food must be pretty good. However two times that I have tried this place, both have been very disappointing. Both times I tried to tenders and fries, the fries are similar in fashion to Five Guys fries so if you like those then you will like these fries. The tenders however are very disappointing. They are not moist, the coating on them is not really any coating, and they just overall do not carry the flavor that much. Additionally, the spiciness is varying as well as the first time I order level 1 and it was basically no spice. The second time I got level two, and it was heat I was never expecting, so this means either I didn’t get level 1 the first time, or the jump between the two is very great. Either way, both results are disappointing.
The service was kind of slow too. There wasn’t a lot of Rush going on at least not that I noticed each time I went, but I still waited an amount of time similar to that of hangry Jack’s or wooboi, which was strange. The prices Also may seem cheaper compared to other hot chicken places, but the amount of food is relative, so whereas most you’d get four strips for say $10, here you get three for $7 so it still adds up.
Overall, I definitely recommend giving it a try as I’m sure it is popular for a lot of people, but as for me I will pass.

if your looking for hot chicken that’s beyond fastfood this IS the place. With the ability to choose your spice level it’s great. first visit I had the og Nashville hot and was perfect. the sandwich had 2 big pieces of chicken with coleslaw . the fries are also freshly cut ones similar to 5 guys.

I saw a few reviews and wanted to try this place. Was I surprised… the order was taken only to find out is was messed up. Re-ordered and that took forever. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich… it was creamy and bun was soggy.. how can someone say that there sandwich was the best if you are having a soggy sandwich? I would certainly not recommend for food and customer service.
