I checked online before placing my order — your listed hours said you were open. I placed an online order for an 18” sausage pizza (over $27), drove to the shop, and found it closed. When I tried to visit the website, it showed as expired.
Is it common practice for Maruca’s to be closed while still accepting online orders? This is frustrating and misleading, and I can’t be the only person this has happened to. Please fix this issue.
Next time I’m in town, I’d like to actually get my pizza — and if this gets resolved, I’ll happily update my review.

I came an hour before closing. They refused to make me two fresh pies. Instead, they wanted to sell me old pies they had sitting out and said they would warm it up. Can you imagine, they chose to lose $80 in pies as well as loyal customers. The teen female at the register was very rude as well. These kid workers are lazy and rude. Stay away, unless you like old pizza and rude employees. Another tip, clean the tables out front as well, always dirty.

My family walked up and down and back and forth on the boardwalk looking for food. It was crazy hot and I couldn’t imagine eating pizza (also, there was a long line). Then, I went over and checked the pizza out, and smelled all of the smells, and I was hooked! I had a slice of the white pie, and it was ginormous. The only hiccup that happened was that as I walked back to our table, one of my kids reached out and grabbed my wrist – which caused my plate to tip over and for my slice to slide off. Luckily, I have the reflexes of a jungle cat and was able to slam my hand against the hot slice and into the plate – thus saving the day, and my lunch – with only minor burns. It was totally worth it! So good. So big. So hot. So yum!

If you’re craving pizza at the beach, then this place won’t disappoint! We went on the 4th of July and the line was long, but it moved quickly. The pizza was great. We ordered a few cheese pizza slices and the crust was nice and crispy. I would definitely bring your own water though. They charge $3 a bottle.

**Edit – I feel the need to make an edit on my review. I still think the pizza overall is good but I’m tired of waiting in a huge line for 15-20 min and then another 15-20 min to get a slice or two of pizza. Absolutely ridiculous. You wait all that time after ordering and you get basically cold slices. Why the wait then? I always see pies right there on the counter that slices can be grabbed from very quickly and easily. But for some reason there’s always a long line and a long wait. It doesn’t seem they have any type of management ever or anybody who’s in charge just a bunch of teens high School / college kids who obviously have no idea had to do things efficiently. Yet after waiting in a long line to order to in turn wait another fifteen or more minutes for a slice they sure do push the tip. I agree with others the seaside heights location does a much better job. This place really needs to do something with having somebody there who is in charge and keeps things moving. People coming there want to grab a quick slice for themselves or their hungry kids. They don’t want to wait 20 to 30 minutes for a slice or two. **
Great pizza. Big slices. Limited seating but at least they have some tables which is nice. Other places have none. Line can be long because it’s popular and they send every slice to do a turn in the oven so it can be a bit before you order and get your slice. Not big on when you pay it asks you for a tip before completing the transaction as many places do nowadays and the cashier points out the tip feature. You’re literally taking my order and someone else is handing me a slice of pizza. Not a tipping situation. And yes I’ve worked in multiple food settings including pizzerias. People don’t tip when getting a slice usually. I did have one person who said if you don’t want to tip just hit no tip and because she said that I tipped her. I appreciated that. Nice option if you want something quick and relatively inexpensive compared to the other restaurants on the boardwalk.

Positives: The pizza is very good.
Negatives: It’s extremely pricey, even by Boardwalk standards. Paid $15.00 for two slices. That’s kinda wild.
But my biggest reason for a low rating is the fact that I had to argue with the people working the counter to get a small box to put my pizza in that I just paid $15 for because I had to walk close to a mile down the boardwalk back to my car. He honestly expected me to walk holding the food on 2 paper plates after I paid $15? They were really rude about it. Left a bad taste in my mouth.

Overall, this place was a good experience. The pizza was really good, and the slice was big. At $6.50 for a slice in a shore town, that’s pretty reasonable in my book. They have a few tables to share but the line does get long. I would definitely suggest you try at least a slice on your next visit to Asbury Park beach.
The only negative I have (and it’s a personal pet peeve of mine) is they only accept credit card or Apple Pay. I am a cash is king person so luckily my spouse had a card. Ironic though that they have a cash tip jar at the register. Lol
